  1. I was £502 in January for my Zed and the wife's Golf Cabrio, fully comp and only £250 excess on both cars. Was an extra £57 when I swapped the Zed for the SL500 last Month, find their prices very competitive.
  2. Your exactly right in what you say, the trader I sold mine to carried out MOTs and Servicing so he would only need to pay for the parts at trade price for the service. Even though my car had every factory fitted option as it was a ex Nissan Demonstrator and cost 33K new, this didn't seem to make a great deal of difference to the trade in price against Zeds with far less options fitted. That just seems to be the norm when trading in higher spec models.
  3. That's my old car but he'll struggle to sell it at that price, it was first registered march 07 so not the 313BHP model with dual air intakes.
  4. Just traded my Nismo 07 Plate in with 34K and in excellent condition and got 13K for it. Road tax ran out this month, (£445) P3 service and MOT were also due and new tyres in around 1500 miles so quite pleased with what I got for it in a Trade in. 13K for your car isn't bad for a trade in but I suppose it depends what you are trading it in against as this can obviously influence the price you get for it. From my experience over the last couple of months a lot of traders are offering a lot less as there is a glut of 350Zs on the market just now, even selling Private wont guarantee you much more IMO, HTH
  5. 57 Plates are now selling for under 13K, here is an example of one which hasn't sold http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2413236.htm Recently P/ex my 07 Plate Nismo for 13k which in the current climate I thought was a reasonable deal. I think you will struggle to get much more than 12K in a private deal and 11K in P/ex. The motor above hasn't sold and it's the 313bhp model with low miles, the market is flooded with Zeds just now which is bringing the price down and £435 Road Tax for anything newer than a 06 and Fuel prices isn't helping. I contacted a few dealers and most were offering only 11K in P/ex it's definitely a buyers market just now there are over 200 for sale on PHs alone, a few dealers I contacted didn't want to know and IMO I had one of the nicest Zeds around. HTH Andy
  6. I agree Chilli Red was the best, sorry to see her go

  9. Neil, Replied to a post in the For Sale section saying I was thinking of changing the zed, however probably went unnoticed, also PMd a member on here to see if he was interested in buying it but he was looking for a 57 plate. Took me a long time to finally make my mind up to exchange it but as I said would have cost me the best part of 2K to keep it on the road with Road Tax, MOT. P3 service and Tyres due in the next couple of months and prices are falling quite rapidly. I will have a few items for sale and once I 've got time will post them up, so if anyone is interested they're welcome to bid for them. You can tell your dad to keep an eye out to see if the Merc moves more than the Zed
  10. Just P/ex the Zed for a Merc SL 500 AMG, Sorry to see the Zed go but as I only use it around 1500miles a year max then the £445 Road Tax was steep, new car is only £245 and it's a 5L engine, so much for this tax saving the environment. Zed was due Road Tax, MOT and a major service so best time to exchange it. It also would need new tyres soon and they would cost the best part of £900 as well. Probably could have sold it private for around 13.5K but looking around at recent sales the prices are all over the place and they're falling all the time and to be honest you would be better off buying a 06 plate as Road Tax is only £245 or a 57 plate with the revised 313bhp engine. The first couple of steelers I contacted offered me 11K in P/ex however eventually got almost what I wanted in P/ex for the SL 500 Loved the car and it was fantastic to drive, only criticisms were view out the rear window as it was almost black so a nightmare to reverse especially at night as it had no parking sensors, alloy wheels kerbed very easily as the leading edge stuck out beyond the tyre wall and the front bumper was a magnet for stones and chipped really easily as it was made of fibre glass and very prone to stone chips, other than that I loved the car although my Wife only drove it once due to the power and driving position. She drove the new car the first day I brought it home and loves it as it is tiptronic or fully automatic and you can adjust the driver's seat for height and every other setting imaginable. The steering column also adjust electrically up and down and forwards and backwards as well as the seat so ideal for Linda as she is small and has a problem with most cars unless the seat is fully forward. View all round is fantastic with no "B" pillar and a large back window and it has parking sensors front and back so easy to park as well. It's pretty fast too. 0-60 in 6.0 Secs only 0.3 sec slower than the Zed but the 50-70 time is just as good and with the 5L V8 engine is as quiet as a mouse when driving The 5L engine only develops 306hp so is totally under stressed and very quiet even when revved up. Totally different driving experience to the Zed much more refined, more of a Sports tourer than sports coupe but handles really well for a big car due to hydraulic height adjustment on the four wheels and Active Body Control and ESP. Will always have a place in my heart for the Zed and will genuinely miss it, if anyone is interested it's currently up for sale here: http://www.parksidemotors.co.uk/sales.htm
  11. Was considering changing my Zed and offered it in Pex to 5 dealers, so far they have all valued it at 11K I was thinking of selling it privately for 13750, am I being optimistic or is this a fair price for a full factory kitted Nismo with 34K on the clock and in immaculate condition.

  18. Totally agree Considering it was snowing heavily up here left work early due to the state of the roads, coming over the Erskine Bridge in RH lane as LH lane goes to Glasgow the other to Greenock when this w4nker in a BMW 330 came right up onto my bumper put on hazards which had no effect temporarily moved to the LH lane and the idiot sped past, gave him a nice gesture and he proceeded to cut back across into the LH lane to turn off for Erskine about 200yds up the road. Considering he was driving a rear wheel drive car and the turn off is a really tight left hand bend and it was snowing, I was hoping the Tube spun off.
  19. I think its time Santa binned the sleigh and got himself one of these Nice colour match for his outfit http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2277865.htm Would get a few pressies in the back too
  20. Wife has a Golf Cabrio and had a near miss once when a mass of snow came off the roof. Always park it away from under the roof when it's covered in snow, sometimes when the snow slides off it can take some loose slates with it as well which will make a nice mess of the paintwork. Last year up North some conservatory roofs caved in under the weight of snow, snow can weigh approx 15lbs per cubic foot even more if it's compacted so a fair old weight if it all comes down at once
