  1. I'd like to add my thanks too. I've now had my Pioneer P88 RSII fitted using the sextons adapter and the steering wheel controls. Also fitted a CD changer and ipod controller for the Pioneer, two Genesis dual mono amps, a set of CDT Eurosport ES62i front component speakers in Wicked CAS door pods and a CDT Eurosport ES10SQ sub in a strut bar enclosure. Will get some pics up in a separate thread when I get chance. The Pioneer looks absolutely spot on in the Sextons single DIN fascia, much better than the stock bose unit and a perfect match for the interior. Also the ICT steering wheel controls have made ALL the buttons on the steering wheel perform a function which was an unexpected bonus. The track up/down and volume up/down work as expected but the two phone buttons also work too. The left one switches between sources on the headunit and the right one switches between radio stations in tuner mode and CDs in the changer in CD changer mode. It may also do something when the ipod is connected too, haven't tried that yet.
  2. I don't get the impression Greekman is a 350z expert since he came on here asking for advice. What would give him that qualification? Surely he'd fit his own brakes if that was the case? The Nissan dealer on the other hand are 350z experts by definition! Did the disks come with instructions and were they given to the dealer? That point would be crucial IMO.
  3. He didn't actually know they were fitted the wrong way though did he? Alex had to tell him. To be honest it shouldn't be up to him to spot what they've done wrong, the whole idea of handing it over to the garage is that you are relying on their specialist knowledge. It's not like he's been driving round on flat tyres or something really obvious. I think if the garage tried that defence in the small claims court the judge would eat them alive. A call to trading standards would be worthwhile now. Not to report them but to get advice on their liability. Their opinion means a lot more than ours.
  4. I'd say it would be fair to ask for the cost of the DBA disks, the 2 sets of fitting costs and the cost of the replacement calipers. If you had a report from a garage saying they were fitted the wrong way wrong and that it caused the overheating then I would think you could quite easily win a small claims court case. Sometimes companies don't even turn up to those things and you win by default. Even if the court don't award the full damages I think they'll almost definitely award you some of it. It's dead easy, just filling in forms and a day off work (claim for lost earnings too if need be!). You don't need a solicitor, just proof in writing to back up your case. There is the track issue but all of the parts you had fitted are designed to be able to stand up to the sort of use, that's why you bought them in the first place! You might be able to get something in writing from Envy or DBA saying that none of their other customers have any issues. Or maybe even testimonials from people on here with those parts fitted. All of the above versus the dealership mumbling feeble excuses should definitely tip the verdict in your favour IMO.
  5. Me too, 350z specific reviews seem thin on the ground at the moment, even in the US. Also there does seem to be the odd comment about them being "bouncy" on bad roads, and a few people have said they've had a noisy set so it would be good to get feedback on that. As far as spring rates go the standard rates are listed on page 1 of this thread. I think Adriank has gone for 12F/12R.
  6. The clue is in the thread title: I think my car is finished. Deep down he never really believed it!
  7. Thanks for the info, it's handy to know Shine pieces can be heated and bent to get a decent fit, definitely an advantage over FRP. Yours skirts look spot on in the pics now!
  8. Looks fantastic, very striking but not too much. Are those the Shine Nismo skirts? I have a set coming soon so was wondering what they were like for fitment and prep etc. What wheels are you getting (or is it a secret for now! )?
  9. Hi Alex, I take it the small ones are for non-Brembo fronts and rear and Brembo rear?
  10. I've found I have more lateral grip since fitting 20mm spacers all round. The car seems more resistant to losing grip on mid corner bumper and ridges.
  11. Stop being a wuss and get the 20mm ones! They'll look better and be easier to sell on when you decide to buy a new set of wheels in a few months time!
  12. Doesn't everyone just use the one listed in this post: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403&start=0 and then cut out the middle bar? I used their single DIN one when I replaced my stereo and it looks absoloutely spot on.
  13. I'd go with a Kenwood DNX-5240BT for a double din. Touch screen, Garmin SatNav built in, Bluetooth built in and also fully Ipod and Iphone compatible with the optional lead (i.e. full Ipod control from the head unit). Seems to have more bug free software than the Pioneer double DINs too and if I remember correctly the Kenwood fits in the recess better than the Pioneers. That's the one I'd go for anyway.
  14. +1. My CE28Ns took 3.5 months. Lucky you, mine took 5 months Mine were only little 16s though so they don't take as long to make! +1. My CE28Ns took 3.5 months. Are these the ones that have just arrived at TGM in fleet? No, this was a few years back and they were for an MX-5 I used to own. They've obviously slowed down a bit since then!
  15. +1. My CE28Ns took 3.5 months.
  16. Got my keyring, tax disk holder, torch and gearknob a few days back and I have to say the quality is absolutely top notch. Highly recommended!
  17. Good man! What colour did you go for?
  18. Gunmetal! But if it helps it will be combined with a rather nice kit!
  19. They look great! Bargain price too for a set in mint condition with that much tread on the tyres.
  20. Just a £250 deposit mate. You know it makes sense. The fitment in the arches will be the same as these wheels: http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/103 ... hancer.jpg And another pic of these for good measure : Eh ?? Whats the first pic ? they are different to the ones you ordered... I like them too http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/657 ... hancer.jpg Those are the Rota GTRs mate, another wheel from Rarerims. See the group buy thread here: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=24584 Also here's some pics from a guy who just got his: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25414 Hope this helps.
  21. Forgot to mention, the currently available wheels weigh in at 24.7lbs Front & 25.3lbs Rear. Mine will be a little heavier due to the extra inch of width but I reckon that's still pretty good for a huge cast wheel.
  22. Cheers for the comments chaps. Here's a close up pic of the wheels: Enough pic whoring now I think!

  24. Have a look at this thread I've just posted: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=26184
  25. Hi all, As there's always someone looking for some new rims I thought I'd let you know about some wheels I've just ordered. They should look something like this: Linea Corse Z2S: Higher res pics: http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... hancer.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... hancer.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... hancer.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... hancer.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... G_0060.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... G_0050.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... 0019_1.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/655 ... G_0015.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/654 ... G_0013.jpg http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/654 ... G_0122.jpg I have to say a BIG thanks to Ben at Rarerims for sourcing these for me. I was going to get a set of the new Rota GTRs but then I saw these on My350z.com and thought they'd be a much better match for the body kit I've ordered from Envy. They haven't been brought into the UK before so I had to ask for these to be specially ordered for me. To be honest I didn't think Ben would go for it so I was gobsmacked when he agreed. They're currently offered in the US in 19x8.5 ET30 front and 19x9.5 ET30 rear in Hyper Silver with a polished lip. Suffice to say the pics above are with spacers. Ben said that as they were a special order I could specifiy the colour, offset and size. So I've asked for 19x9 Front with ET20 offset and 19x10 Rear with ET20 offset, basically the same as the new GTRs as I love the way they sit in the arches. In terms of colour I've gone for "Matte Steel Grey" with a polished lip. Here's how the "Matte Steel Grey" looks: http://www.wheeldude.com/gallery2/d/961 ... 790_03.jpg I'm not sure if the polished lips will be even bigger on the ones I've ordered or if the extra width will be on the inner edge of the rim. Either way I can't wait to get them! Unfortunately it's going to be 12-16 weeks for them to turn up due to the fact they're custom made but Rarerims are bringing an additional 4 sets into the country in the same fitment. I'm not sure if the colours will be the same but if anyone else wants a set of these and you're quick you might be able to have them made in a colour of your choice. So you could end up with a set of wheels no-one else in the world has! Cost? Less than £1500 delivered fitted with brand new Falken FK452s! I think that includes wheels nuts too, although I'm not sure if that includes a set of locking wheel nuts. I'd just like to say I'm not affiliated with Rarerims, I just wanted to let people know about a new wheel on the scene and say thanks to Ben for sorting this for me.
