  1. If you do it, put £200 on CRND.

Flooded gold mine in S Africa. If they get the water out - happy days. If they don't you lose £200.

    They're only £0.02 a share so £200 gets you 10,000 shares.

if this does turn good what would the sp go up to for an unflooded gold mine?

Not sure what the forecast will be yet - but for CRND the 52 week high was 10.68p, so if they get back up to that then it's around a 5-fold increase. Let's hope they do! :snack:

  2. Welcome news since I decided to jump on the RRL bandwagon last night, with my purchase limit set at 25p so should be no problem getting them today. Not a huge investment at the moment - just under £200 on the strength of the tips, however I will look to build on this in coming months following further research.

Didn't get the CRND shares at 1.85p - went for 2.15p and purchased £190 worth. Will watch with interest prior to further investment.

Have read over a 'Galvan' report and am currently looking into the following:

PVR - Porvair - upcoming industrial filters company.

FWEB - Fiberweb Plc - makes 'hygiene products' - high level of director buys showing confidence.

LAM - Lamprell - Oil sector FTSE 250, solid company with a high market share in the middle east - specialising in refurb and building of offsore oil rigs.

ENQ - Enquest - found a gap in the market with expected 30% growth this year (47% last year).

I don't think I'm experienced enough to say these are 'tips' - but just maybe worth having a look into.

  3. I've decided to try my hand at share dealing - I figured if I can make more than 3% I'll be better of than trying to save cash!

Have set up with TDWaterhouse as per the advice on here...

Interesting tip (and thank you for it, Captain) - I've looked into it and decided to have a punt. This is just a note to say what I have done and why - as a complete beginner I certainly wouldn't presume to advise others just yet!

It looks as thought the South African government are going to provide aid to help clean up the mines affected by flooding - so hopefully CRND will be starting to get back up to speed later this year - resulting I hope, in an increase in the share prices.

I have a pending limit order so when the price hits £0.0185 (hopefully some time tomorrow) I'll purchase £190 worth - all I can spare at the moment! Guess you have to start somewhere.

I will also look to invest in some low-risk shares in the coming months too, in order to have a balanced portfolio.

I will watch with (now vested!) interest... :)

  4. B0ll0cks - it would cost the economy billions in lost man hours, late deliveries etc.. It would take a long time to phase in the nex limits and enforcement would be practically impossible. Plus it would be an international embarrassment if such a measure were necessary.

I reckon that the people concerned about fuel economy are (mostly) already sensible enough to slow down without a speed limit change.

Sounds like typical media BS to me.

  5. I've had a similar thing myself. I know it's tempting to try and push small dents out - but if you muck it up you may stretch of even break the paint. I'd get a mobile repair specialist to do it - might cost you around £40-£50 but IMO it's better than risking a more expensive repair.

    :)

  6. hmmm... the manual says that the unit will only work when the ignition key for NATS (nissan anti theft system) is in the acc or on position...

Maybe if this is a used system it wont work with your key?

I could be wrong, but its a plausible explanation. There must be some way of reprogramming your key and/or the bose system to work...

Hopefully, somebody more technical will be along to help.

PS - :welcome: to the forum

  7. you sure L248 is pre-mixed?

Just did a quick look on google, and the Oz X-Trail foruums reckon it's still to be mixed 33%-50% (though thats for an X-Trail obviously)

Yup - the inside label states: "Premixed with water. Frost protection until -38C. Do not not add water".

  8. Hey folks,

Looking forward to fitting my shiny new coolant tank tomorrow (cheers Neil!) :yahoo:

Just been to Nissan to get some coolant for top-up - however, they don't do the L250 any more, as recommended in the manual. It has apparently been replaced by L248 pre-mixed.

I'm guessing this is no major issue. I was just going to get a top up litre, but rather than mix them up I've gone for 4l of the new stuff to do a complete fluid change instead.

Am I right in assuming that the L248 is basically the same as what you get by mixing L250 with water?

    Cheers

  9. its been a while since posting.

The car is still going well, the airbag light is really annoying me, i have had a wiggle of the wires and tried moving the seat forward but no joy, it pretty much screws up every week now so am just letting it flash till its service.

I had this problem mate, lasted a few weeks but not seen it since. I think it may be to do with the connectors under the seat getting knocked when cleaning, moving seat etc...

On the other hand - if it is persistent the it could well be indicating an actual fault so might be worth getting it looked at.

    :)

  10. When you have cleaned your car :boxing: , you might see faint scratches on it where you engaged the offending bush. As long as you can't feel your finger nail catch on the scratches, then they should polish out.

I would be wary of things like T-Cut as they can be quite abrasive and the paint on the Zed is thin(ish). Try some like Autoglym super resin polish - this should buff them out nicely.

    Try this: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-does-polishing-do.html

  11. I think the point people are missing is this: infuriating as it may be - there are many, many people on the road that don't concentrate, aren't aware of their surroundings and are basically, well, crap drivers.

If DRLs gives me a fighting chance against being smacked into by one of these morons, then I'm all for it.

  12. Keep them clean. Sounds daft, but tyres with proper black protection on them look a lot smaller to the eye than brown ones that are filthy. Not sure what/if/how often you put stuff on them, but for a cheap solution it'd be well worth trying that first else you're going to murder ride quality on lower profiles.

  13. When my parked Zed got reversed into - the offending lady said she hadn't seen my car (and didn't feel the bump either by all accounts...)... Eh? The big shiny grey thing dirctly behind you, in broad daylight?

She was about 70+ bless her. I ended up feeling like the villain!
