  1. Jay,

Nice job there mate, looks B) - one question: Is your cubby the old style spring flip up lid?

You see, I dismantled mine by taking the door off to wrap it - and couldn't work out how to get the springs back in! So now my door is springless for the time being - can you be of any help??

    Cheers! :D

  3. I've just 'un' di-noc'd my centre console, partly because I did a crap job of it and partly because the hot weather was lifting it in places.

It was very easy to remove and there was no residue at all underneath. Hair dryer works fine.

I'm going all out on mine now - sanding it down and doing a custom paint job...! :)

  4. SAME THREAD - MORON NUMBER 2!! (but at least no abuse this time!)

Got to do full emergency test of my brakes today...I'm pleased to find them in good order.

Going round roundabout, in correct lane, indicator on to exit - Peugeot 106 containing 'flat cap' approaches next entrance. Methinks, he won't be able to get on the roundabout before I pass, surely he's going to slow down, he slows down a bit, no, no, decided to floor it - didn't even look properly or see me! :scare:

I slam on as he pulls out in front of me - then in typical style, rather than continue ahead to pass me, he decides slam on as well to stop right where I will be.

We come to a stop with about a metre between us. I didn't honk, flash or shout abuse, I just waved him to carry on out of my way - I guess everyone makes mistakes...

He actually gave me the thumbs up - yeah, you're welcome mate...

  5. Well CRND has all the appeal of a dropped pie right now...

Dropped over 40% in the last couple of days - luckily I ditched mine at -25%, which still stings a bit, but there you go, it was never a risk free investment!

Some say you could buy back in now while it's rock bottom - but with so much uncertaintly surrounding the AMD problem and CRND's future I am not going to bother. Yes, there is loads of gold down there - but how long will it take to get the stuff out?

Sticking with RRL, XEL and a small amount in BKY to test the water.

    Good luck all

  6. you can report them remember, take the number and keep well away from them.

I know this is the sensible thing to do - but I always think: surely it would by my word against theirs, without any proof. I guess the police might look out for the plate if they get reported a few times though.

I can't remember it now, but I'll bear this in mind for next time.

  7. So, driving home along some great country roads at an even 60mph, plenty of straights and bends etc... I get caught up by a bright green Dawoo Matiz, occupied by three lads. Nothing against other people's cars though, just the morons driving them, especially when they tailgate, despite being unable to overtake.:angry:

These jokers were itching to get round me, but weren't keeping up in the twisties and didn't have the power for the straights and could only catch up. Well they've pi**ed me off so I ain't slowing down for them to pass, and I ain't speeding up - why should I?

So they finally get a half chance to pass and 'floor it' so despite a powerful urge to speed up a bit to keep them where they belong, I decided to let it go and let them pass. They got just about level with me when what I thought would happen, did happen - oncoming traffic turns the next corner. As much as I'd love to see them crash and burn, not really fair on the other guy - so I brake giving them room to get back in. They subsequently slam on the anchors to avoid hitting the queue of slow traffic ahead which they hadn't factored in. :drive1

But they got past a ZED!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!

Then the guy on the back seat (sporting a backward red baseball cap which made him look a bit...special) turns round and gives me the V's - clearly the big balls of the outfit. At the next red light I had my door open to get out and 're-align' these arseholes with a few words of 'friendly advice' but sadly the light turned green and so didn't get the chance. Probably a good thing in hindsight...

They then decided it would be fun to try and handbrake round some shallow corners - doesn't really work, just create a bit of smoke. Great.

Well they didn't crash, and probably just went on to show somebody else what a bunch of tits they are.

  8. RRL update:

    24 March 2011

TEXAS UPDATE – NORTH CHAPMAN RANCH

International oil and gas exploration, development and production company, Range Resources

Limited (“Range†or “the Companyâ€) would like to announce that whilst fracture stimulation

operations continue at the North Chapman Ranch Field, Range is pleased to report that combined

test rates (on a 100% basis) from the Smith #1 and Russell-Bevly #1 wells reached 9.2 MMcf of gas

and approximately 769 bbls of oil per day this week, compared to the earlier peak combined rate of

3.3 MMcf of gas and 247 bbls of oil per day achieved in September of last year.

Added Pete Landau, Executive Director, "Results of the frac program are encouraging, but we have

yet to see the full potential of these wells. At least one zone in the Russell-Bevly remains to be frac'd,

and we are still unloading frac fluid from the recently stimulated zones. We are pleased with the

results thus far and look forward to further long term stabilized data and additional development

    drilling later in the year.â€

    Sounds good to me!

  9. BKY especially under the radar from what I can see and all ISA'able.

It looks like the mid-March plunge in the BKY share price and loss of some major investors coincided with the appointment of the new MD - or do you think was that just an unfortunate coincidence and more to do with the events in Japan?

Sure looks like a good time to get in if they are expected to return to previous levels?

  10. Read this.

    http://spandy.org/

Gives a perfectly reasonable route to £1 for RRL based on current known projects and discoveries.

CRND really is sh*t or bust.

Thanks captain - I also keep an eye on this blog; I hope to learn to research on a similar level. I'm into CAZA as well.

Sadly had SOU in my stockwatch only as didn't have the funds to buy in! Bugger!

  11. Nope - the government use speed as a method of "weeding out the bad drivers" because its relatively easy, and makes lots of money.

To weed out people who actually cause the problems would cost money rather than generate it, and be a lot more difficult. So who is the one making death on our roads cheap, the drivers who have accidents, or successive governments who wont invest in a proper method of reducing it?

Unfortunately there is no law against being a generally crap driver - they are often only brought to task once their actions have led to an accident. Speed is an absolute which can be measured but I do agree that it isn't the be all and end all cause of accidents. Some money is put back into scheme such as the Speed Awareness Workshops - I think these are a step in the right direction of re-education, and can be effective.

Its very easy to quantify and monitor the emissions of each vehicle using its rated emission level and recorded mileage each year, but why bother changing it when the current system of charging based on the level alone without taking into account usage generates billions from motorists who dont use their cars. I tax four, but Ill bet if I work out the total tons of CO2 I emit it will be less than some who may only have one car but do more mileage. So in an emissions based taxing system, which the VED is now supposed to be, is it fair that I pay four times as much if not more, for emitting less?

Certainly agree with this. Usage is already taxed through fuel costs. It is unfair to tax just for owning a vehicle

Its the same with the "speed kills". Yes it does, but its by no means the sole contributor, yet its targetted as though it is - because doing it properly is too difficult and doesnt make as much money for the treasury, so this half cocked scheme is being touted as the be all and end all by safety campaigners.

Speed itself doesn't kill - but it does take away reaction time from people who are already no doubt at their capacity - resulting in their inability to react to the situation and maintain control of it.
