  1. Hi folks, As you may have noticed, we increased the number of winners to five, in recognition of the five thousand members and the popularity of the competition. Congratulations to the winners Please could the winners contact me with the following: 1: Name & Address for posting 2: Choice of polished or brushed finish. In answer to the questions put forward, yes these will be for sale in the very near future - we just have to finalise pricing and postage in the next couple of days. The panels are made from 304 grade stainless steel .7mm thick. To clean them: wipe over to remove finger prints using megs speed detailer or dettol surface cleaner. If polish is needed, polish with autosol stainless steel polish or any other NON-ABRASIVE polish. Congratulations to the winners, and we will post further details on how anyone else can get hold of one of these as soon as we can.
  2. It'll work, just let it dry out properly and try the reset again. If its turning on, but just not responding, then it may just require leaving for a while to dry out some more. Phones nowadays seem to be fairly bulletproof, so just let it dry some more and try the reset again is what Id do.
  3. The reset procedure I posted above will also work when it is in the on state. Its a soft reset that one I think, so it should just force it to reboot.
  4. Threads disappear when the author changes the first post.
  5. Let it dry fully and then do a factory reset on it. I had an issue with mine when I first bought it and had to do this. Im not sure if the following is a full reset, if it is then it will wipe your data (names, numbers, messages, apps etc etc) Try resetting it by pressing and hold the Sleep/Wake button (on the top right of the unit) and the Home button (circular button on the iPhone's face) simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
  6. Yes as Dave says, unfortunately we have situations where people have posted adverts that have not conformed to rules, members have made payment and the seller has done a runner. Although moderating for sale posts will not remove the possibility that someone could be out to take advantage of a buyer, we can at least try and prevent as much of it as possible. I would agree that we "shouldn't" be encouraging a nanny state within our own club, but the aim is to do this for the protection of members here rather than the moderation of anyone selling. Please bear with us as a solution should be forthcoming soon, this will mean once a sale post has been approved, the thread will then be open as normal without any differences to before.
  7. We appreciate there are problems, and there is a fix awaiting application, but it will require us waiting for a quieter time on the forum, as it will require the closing of the boards for perhaps up to half an hour. It may be that late this evening is the best time to do this. The fix will hopefully result in the following: New topics wil require approval, but all subsequent posts and edits will not.
  8. You are correct, your paint code should be K51 for the new grey in 2007. One option would be to see if the local dealer has a touch up spray can in your colour code, or as a last resort you can have Halfords make up a rattle can using your paintcode, and then let the chipsaway bloke use that.
  9. Are the Nismo carbon fibre sides hand rolled on the thighs of fair maidens? Or ar they just the same carbon fibre with a sticker on? Fail to see why they are so much more expensive than any other carbon fibre B pillar cover. I dont have any carbon fibre bits on my car, so what do I know.
  10. If you are wanting a fast turnaround, then perhaps beter looking at a local firm, or perhaps even asking your buyer who they are using (saves on postal delays between parties). Worth asking the person you are buying from who they are using too, as you could perhaps use them. The person selling to you will then know they are dealing with someone who wants a fast turn around, and is less likely to enter into any gazumping etc.. Hope that helps.
  11. Hi and welcome Dont know of anyone that has one of those fitted, nevermind fitted to a lowered car. However, looking at it, it will almost certainly catch on speedbumps on a lowered car and possibly get ripped off, leaving it to be run over by the truck following. Which looking at it wouldnt be a bad thing imho. There are much nicer looking fronts out there in my opinion, but I suppose its the owners own choice. What skirts/rear would you match to it?
  12. I run standard ride height with the GReddy front lip and it scrapes on bumps. I wouldn't run that lip on a lowered car as it would scrape on almost anything.

  14. Ive got parts from various manufacturers on my car, but they don't do official stickers in the sizes and colour that I want for mine. Hence why Ive had a bunch custom made for my rear quarter window.
  15. Unfortunately it isn't an option that can be enabled, we either change it for all members or members enable it themselves if it is applicable to their location. Any software setting that was to change it for groups of users based on their location, would need to know the location of each user - "At home with spacers and 4100 fitted. Cheers bud." would just confuse the hell out of such a system though.
  16. Just to note, several areas of the sales section on the site are now subject to a moderation queue. All posts made in there will require aproval from one of the team before releasing. Hopefully this will cut down on rule infractions and spam sellers for the good of everyone.
  17. As per above, it seems that there has been a **** up on pricing on our part, and the price for displaying your car as part of a club stand is £45 (per person, i.e. £90 if you have a passenger). We are yet to discover if this is the same cost even if displaying for just one day. More details to follow, but to reassure people whatever the cost turns out to be, we will still provide the first £15 discount for people attending with the club.
  18. We are looking at the possibility of having for sale threads put in an "aproval queue" meaning that a member of the team will approve every for sale add. This may add a minimal delay to the posting but should ensure that all rules are followed and there are also no bitching posts/threads.
  19. I would concur that this would/SHOULD be a write off. My reasoning is simple. Who would buy an accident repaired Zonda S ? Lets not pretend this is some run of the mill car that will have a section of the market that think "yeah well its been in a bump, but I can get it a few quid cheaper".... People who can afford £500,000 supercars, will most probably have them individually specced, and bought from new. These aren't the sort of people that will be bothered about saving a couple of hundred grand for a nearly new accident repaired. If it were a premiership footballer, its a couple of weeks wages. Four weeks wages after tax. This is a prestigious, VERY expensive car. Nobody with that kind of money will buy an accident repaired £300k car. Ever. Which means the current owner will never shift it for what it should be worth, and it wont sell for more than the repair cost.
  20. Newest version of firefox fixed the smilies issue. The site slow down issues seem to be a number of things. Firstly, we have google and Yahoo bots browsing the site, and unfortunately these fellows seem to decide to do this at the same time. They should be handled by the software, but I think an update may be needed to the way they are directed round the site. We are also getting quite busy. Though quite busy is perhaps an understatement. To give some idea of our growth, the original MONTHLY server allowances this fourm used back in 2005/6 when we started would be used up in aproximately 3-4 days now. One particular statistic of interest is that we are displaying almost 1 Million pages per month. Thats not "hits" as many statistics engines report either. In terms of "hits" or individual items retrieved from our server (individual icons, images, buttons etc) we are well over 14 Million each month. The above are being served to several thousand unique visitors each month too. We managed to chew through nearly 90GB of data in February, and the stats for March look set to increase page views over 1 million in a month for the first time, with usage pushing 100GB. We are currently undertaking a piece of work to improve the way our database works, and hopefully this should see some improvements. Though during this work we have rebooted the server a few times, so this may explain why some people have seen slow downs or timeouts. We will make it better, and we will make it faster.
  21. Holy thread revival Batman! Though with show season and the drive outs fast approaching, not an altogether bad time to be gently reminded that driving like this on any of our club meets or events will not be tolerated.
