  1. He will be in the same boat as vettel then in having to use old engines to avoid a penalty
  2. Yep - Porsche bought up masses of shares (over 70% if I recall) and some hedge fund managers caught a very nasty cold.
  3. Thats a massive step up in the looks department from the Cayenne.
  4. Never really been ripped off before, its always been fairly useful and weve dealt with honest people previously. First time in all the time Tracy has been using it that weve been sticthed up and purposefully lied to. Oh well, complaint raised and hopefully we will get someone with half a brain at paypal to see weve been had and get the money back.
  5. Missus just bought a supposedly "new with tags" watch for her mum off ebay. Only a cheapo £30 job (should be £50 new). When it arrived it has clearly been worn for some time as the plating is wearing off the clasps and shoulders, and the battery is dead, making it at least two years old Id guess. I really cant abide people who are dishonest on ebay. bloody annoys me.
  6. As Chris has said above, the contesting is probably not aimed at you, but more the other parties involved that are set to receive considerable sums. Id just sit tight and see what happens. Its unlikely that your inheritance will be revised given the releatively small ammount you are set to receive from the whole estates valuation. If you get it, then good, the £1000 from your grandad can go to his great grand daughter, as I suppose youd just put it in savings for her or something. If you dont, then its no massive hardship, and it substantiates your not engaging with your father for these years. If you chase it through the courts, then solicitors fees will outweigh the £1000 within a couple of letters and phonecalls, so its not worth it.
  7. IPitty - Mr T soundboard ebay light saber google earth jumicam appbox lite LEDit and of course this one:
  8. I guess so. I usually just type it too, that probably explains me not noticing a couple of options missing from the quick reply
  9. IMG and URL now available in fast reply. Oh I know, I still find it quicker to type them out than fish around for them using the mouse. I only just put them in today
  10. +millionty I've even got the tags mapped to separate keys on my G11 keyboard at home IMG and URL now available in fast reply.
  11. Its been there since shortly after we changed to this look - so well over a year. Its permanently visible on IE, and you click fast reply on firefox.
  12. According to the stats that have been updated today after yesterdays race - both Webber and Vettel have used their 8th engine. So Marks has got to do 2 more qualifications and races, but Vettels needs replacing - can he use an old engine rather than suffer the 10 place grid drop by using a new one? http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/statistics/f ... nginesused
  13. Best place to do the research on running costs is the UK GTR Owners Club, actual costs from actual owners having actual work done. You cant get a lot more accurate than that. As Liam says, a lot of the talk on the internet surrounding these cars and servicing/running costs, especially from the early days, has since proven to be a load of rubbish. The costs are high, certainly much higher than a 350/370, but not the astronomical figures that were spouted around in the early days. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/nissan-gt-r-maintenance.html
  14. Im not that bothered about big power in the "every day" car. Plus its going to be used for taking to the airports on hols etc, so Im not too fussed about stopping every 200 yards to fill up. I was just interested in what other people would buy and whether there wereany cars on the market that people hadnt thought about, Im not wanting a "what chris should swap the jag for" thread, but its interesting to see the options out there - some of which Ill admit I hadn't even thought about, or had forgotten about.
  15. Just done a quick quote myself and got just under £700 with mileage of up to 8K per year and thats without a tracker. Thats only about £60 more than the lowest quote I could get for the Jag ffs!
  16. Depends on what Ferrari, but in my experience if you compare say up to 10K miles per year in a GTR serviced at main dealer, no its not cheaper to run a Ferrari in the same manner. Heres some info from GTROC on the expected servicing costs. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/143601-offic ... hours.html and a section containing actual owners servicing experiences: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/nissan-gt-r-maintenance.html
  17. No need for the 5.0 V8 though, so it would be lower model IS if it were that.
  18. The Phaeton is a lot of car for the money indeed. Though Im not sure if its level of luxury is now outdated by other newer cars. Comparing the IS-F for example to the Phaeton, I think you get more "toys" in the IS-F. Though Im guessing the Phaeton would be a more comfortable ride.
  19. Actually, one of them can't do that all to well, hence the requirement for ease of access to the back seats.
  20. I think its going to be along the lines of the lexus IS or LS, or BMW 5 series (though I think thatspretty ugly tbh). Or some of the other suggestions like Audi 4/6. Probably not going to be anything for the next few months anyway. The GT-R is certainly nice for that, but a little impractical if we need to take four adults out anywhere, especially those who may struggle to get in and out of rear seats in a coupe.
  21. Nah - just thinking ahead, and looking at options for moving on - probably not for a few months yet though. Some of the suggestions I hadnt even thought of, but are very interesting - the IS-F looks to be great, but probably no real need for the 5.0 V8 maybe all the same toys in a lower engine. The new RR Sport is nice inside too, but its JLR, so unfortunately its ruled out for me as Im not giving that company another penny, ever. Four adults in a GT-R wouldn't work. Some really interesting suggestions.
  22. It doesnt necessarily have to be "sporty", I'd lean more to the luxury side rather than sporty myself. Been having the same discussion in the office, and there just doesnt seem to be a great deal of choice in that area or at least it feels that way.
  23. Heres an interesting one, hopefully will get some good petrol headed chat going. Lets say you have a budget of up to £50k. What car would you get? Restrictions / desireables are as follows: Not too old, but dependant on model/mileage can be 3+ years old. Four seats preferably, and perhaps four door too, though four setas with easy access for older folk (parents) via two doors is fine You dont have to spend all the budget, but you can only buy one car... What would you have and why?...
  24. 1 liter per one hundred miles! So in a run from say Brighton to Aberdeen, you could completely run a 350Z dry and thats considered acceptable! I'd question that.
