  1. Past hour
  2. Next up we've got brakes, I think the track time at silverstone took its toll on these discs which were already on their way out and this trip finally sent them to their grave - it was incredibly hard to find all the info I needed for what pads and discs work with this BBK because as far as I'm aware - this is either the only one or one of the only ones around (more info on this on another post). So I gave it some GTR 380mm brembo discs and some EBC bluestuff pads, as you can probably see the new stuff is in way better condition
  3. Next it was time to address some issues I found during the trip, there was a misfire low in the RPMs (around 2.5-3k rpms) so I replaced both CAM Position sensors and the crank position sensor - the crank sensor especially looked really worse for wear
  4. First job when the car returned was to give it a good clean - the wheels especially were filthy after 2000 miles
  5. Last week
  6. I've now sourced a pair. Thanks to those who contacted me.
  7. Is this a current code or an archived code? Best to clear all codes, just to be sure. If DTC U1001 reappears, you will have to get a CAN system test performed to identify which control unit is causing the problem. I have all the control units in stock relating to this issue.
  8. Thank you. managed to get a code reader and it says U1001 can comm circuit - would that be crank sensor related?
  9. I got annoyed with my Southbend gearknob not sitting straight. Or loosening off the threads when the weather got really hot. So I bit the bullet. Drilled a 3.2mm hole and tapped some m4 threads into the front of it. I'd never actually tapped threads before. But it worked quite well. Just waiting on the correct length grub screw to finish. The protuding one is a place holder to test it works. It Should sit flush and solid once it's all done.
  10. Thanks, will take her out to 2025 Torqen Summer meet this Sunday. Haven't been to a car show before, very excited
  11. Just piggy back the wires from the clutch pedal switch. If it is not the clutch switch, then try the crank position sensor.
  12. Hi, I believe my clutch switch has gone. When attempting to start all the lights/gauges come on but it wont even attempt to start. It has been intermittently like this so I bought the switch and was going to get it done with it's annual service this month but now it wont start at all. Before I call my breakdown and have to push it out of my garage, any tips for getting it going? Cheers
  13. ULTRACE Part 4 We left Poland early and headed towards Paris for a day there, we took pictures by what I was told by the missus were landmarks of her favourite tv show before escaping the worst city in the world I did manage to get "parked" right outside everywhere we went though - confidence and foreign license plates go a long way in keeping your car nearby without having to pay for parking lol
  14. ULTRACE Part 3 The car show itself was unfortunately underwhelming - some great builds there (not very many z's aha) but it was poorly planned so we spent more time looking for water than at the cars. That evening though we attended a car meet that was straight out of a NFS game.
  15. ULTRACE Part 2 After finally getting some rest we had a day free before the show so we went on a shopping trip, took plenty of pics and videos of the cars before a drunken night that ended at 6am after the sun had risen
  16. ULTRACE Part 1 Firstly impressed with how much more you can fit in the boot of the 370 compared to the 350. We drove down as a convoy of 4, two red nissans and two white BMW M cars, got on Le Shuttle with no issues but ran into tons of weather and traffic - staring off with rain/thunderstorms through france to a 40 degree heatwave through traffic jams in germany, but we eventually made it after 28 hours of driving and 40 hours of being awake. I really wished I had functioning AC during this trip...
  17. This being a bit of a project car and due to carrying a fire extinguisher being a legal requirement in Germany I decided to hardmount a fire extinguisher in the Z. I tried to do as clean a job as possible and kept the top carpet off so that I can remove the extinguisher mount and cover up the holes if I choose to.
  18. Hi and welcome along buddy. Nice looking Zed you have there.
  19. Hello everyone, just got my first 2003 350z after looking for a project car for about 1 year, mechanically sound, but a rust bucket nevertheless:))) Has a paddle clutch from Tarmac fitted, yes it did give me a run for my money and yes - lots of fun in London traffic:) Managed to make it look a bit more appealing and having lots of fun driving it. Looking forward to meeting likeminded people 😀
  20. For the steering wheel buttons on volume up/down, source, and the phone/talk, are they just sending a constant 12v signal to the end of the wire harness, or is it different electrical pulses that the radio then interprets for volume, source, and phone/talk?
