re-setting the Air bag light.......enough is enough !!!

OK. We all know the procedure in clearing the flashing light. BUT how many times would you put up with it returning before you say enough is enough.

Mine has come back 5 times over a period of say 10 weeks. What's causing it to return to annoy me !!

Its trying to tell you to stop fecking around under the dashboard!

I'd discon the battery and check for any bad plug/socket connections you may have disturbed

If all the connections are tight it could be the "clock spring" unit behind the steering wheel that has failed.

Had mine replaced a few months back.

Was about £60 2nd hand and about £30 labour to fit.

Mine puts the light up when I move the seats to clean under them so I have to mess about with the connectors and then reset the light.

do you have anything under the seat which is knocking the wires? Are you putting anything on passenger seat as this can cause issues as well.

I had this with passenger airbag as a bottle knocked the wire under the seat, I unplugged it blew out the dust re plugged it in and then when I started the car it was gone and hasn't been back since

I seem to recall issues with the air bag lights coming on that was due to luggage etc being squeezed behind the seat backs that disturbed connections/wiring?

They've all been shorn around here, which makes them difficult to grab hold of, and near impossible to hang on to!! :teeth:

Clock Spring had one fail on my old EP3

on steering wheel there is housed a coil (clock spring) it just keeps an electrical connection to airbag

while steering wheel is being turned left to right.

hope that helps
