Dizzy Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Mot yesterday (She passed). Whilst up on the ramps we noticed what looks like oil leaking from an seal in the center of the rear sub frame. What is it..? and is it a simple fix etc, thanks in advance. Quote
Keyser Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Rear diff mount. Easy to replace - not really - But it can be replaced, ZmanAlex used to do a diff set to replace all 3 diff bushes so try him or Clark Motorsport, Maybe Horsham do them as well now. You will need to drop the diff then get that bush out - it may be possible on the car but if not the subframe will need to come out - it's not a "hard" job if the bolts are not rusted but there is a lot to do to drop the rear subframe out. EDIT: I added an e to Clark - Sorry Ewen Edited April 30, 2015 by Keyser Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 As Keyser says not a five minute job, we keep the Whiteline bush kit he mentions on the shelf its £69 1 Quote

Thanks Keyser, so is the oil coming from the diff or the diff mount..?? Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Its from the bush itself so not anything to worry about right away Quote

RobPhoboS Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I just ordered a whitline kit as well as I noticed this the other day. Seems odd to have this bushing filled with silicone stuff but at least we have a few solutions that doesn't cost loads 1 Quote
RobPhoboS Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I've booked in with Sly to have it done. It's one of those jobs that will take me 2 days, rather than a couple of hours with him 1 Quote
evilscorp Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Two days, three months and counting. . . Lol. 1 Quote
