Hi all,

I own a 2005 350z @ 95000miles

Fitted a manifold back exhaust and ever since I get a large puff of blue smoke (oil) when blipping throttle in neutral or when pulling away from a junction after coasting to a stop.

Doesnt happen all the time though.

I am leaning toward breather system but wanted to check if anyones had similar issues.

Thanks

Lol, not quite what I meant. What causes this sudden puff?.

Is there a way to eliminate it?.

Is it wise to upgrade the OEM breather system to cope.

Or, in all likelyhood my rings are shot and I`m doomed?

Sorry should of worded it that way first time.

It's part of the maintenance on z engines that you change the breather value off the top of my head its 74000 service that it gets done .Make sure you keep an eye on the oil level .

When you removed the oem cats you also created a passage for the oil to exit.

You did not see it before because the oem cats burnt it up.

At 95k I suspect that you will be using a bit of oil

However you will be using the same amount of oil as before and if that was not excessive then all will be good.
