Ideas for dressing boot space?

Exotic

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I've had a custom sub and taken out the spare wheel (to make the boot deeper/bigger as well as weight saving) from awhile back but now I've thought of ideas of dressing the bare boot floor to complete the look. Any ideas for this either DIY or done professionally? Was thinking that as well as making it look complete it will cut out a slight bit of high frequency noise from the rear?

True will any thing cheap just do the job or is there something more premium I can try to cut maybe reduce the noise?

Thicker the carpet . .the more "premium" it will be  You could also stick some sound deadening stuff underneath it

Not sure about leather as I don't want it too shiny or to crack - I was also thinking of fitting some interior LEDs to it as well somehow to make it look a bit like some of the ICED cars in The Fast and the Furious!

Any recommendations for the sound deadening material? To be honest it isn't that noisy, just perhaps when the roads wet or when it rains there's slightly more high frequency noise with the stereo off!

Has anyone used any Dynamat products in their boot, I may use some if it's any good? Also would really like to know if anyone has installed neon style LED interior lights as I fancy a cool glow in the boot area once I do the carpet install.

I noticed there's a superlite Dynamat as well, I may look into that and I only need a sheet or two. To be honest I might just leave the deadening all together as a thick enough carpet will soak up any high frequency noise road noise anyway and my zed is pretty quiet in the cabin generally, it's just because it's bare at the moment so the acoustics is more reflective.

I went to Dynamic Sounds today and will be getting the interior LEDs put in next weekend, should be easy enough to wire to my power amp. Just need to decide on the colour? I think either lilac or blue - can't wait as this will be a mod after a very long time and think it will look pretty cool!

Nice work I'd be happy if I could get the carpet fitted as well as that. I've got the LEDs and getting some underlay soon, it may take awhile for me to finish it but when I do I will definitely put some pics up.
