garak112 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) I installed a plenum spacer on my Z and when driving experienced a horrendous drone in the cabin, which I traced to the right hand side of the plenum rubbing the strut bar. I played about with adjusting the strut but wasn't able to completely cure it. At this stage it looks like the best option might be to put some washers under the bar mounts (I know some of the kits come with these). Any idea what size and thickness I would need? KyleR Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 5/16th of an inch thick spacers is what you need, so about 8mm Quote
GT4 Zed Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 They should have come with spacers! Surely you can can take a strut brace bolt into a hardware shop and get enough washers to clear the plenum on all the four bolts. Quote
Wasso Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I can supply just the strut spacers, send me a PM and I'll sort something out for you. 1 Quote

garak112 Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Wasso has come to the rescue of my (and the gfs) ears. I was told that if I couldn't stop the droning then I had to take it off. She was upset about doing it because she thought it improved fuel economy... Quote

All mods improve fuel economy, safety and increase the car's value, up to 25% more when in discussions with other halves Quote
