Bodyboarder81 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Bought some of theses a while ago and my car needed some new front pads anyway , so thought would be a good time to get it all fitted ..... The garage who fitted them tried the first one on the front and said they were so bad they took it off !...... They said they couldn't get it not to rub against anything and would have been dangerous to have it rubbing ? Anybody else have this ? If so how did you get round it ? Thanks Quote
Jp606 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) They sound pretty stupid, I'd suggest taking it to garage that knows what they are doing. They are easy to route with the included P-clips and also re-using one of the OEM ones, loads of people run them on here with no issues. Like this: Edited December 14, 2014 by Jp606 Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 ........ That's what I thought to be honest Don't think they bled my brakes properly after trying to fit one ..... Feel very spongy !! Quote
Jp606 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 I'd highly recommend some good fluid to go with the HELs, I use Motul RBF600 which is great Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 Yep got some of the Same to go in ...... Along with some eibach arbs ....... I'm almost copying you Just wandered If you needed to fit adjustable drop links with the arbs or my standard ones ok? Quote
Jp606 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 The ARBs are the best thing I've fitted, they improve the handling so much. I've gone with adjustable as they are stronger and the OEM ones are known to fail, I don't think it's completely necessary to use them though. Quote
OllyB Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Only need to be adjustable if your lowered I belive.... Quote
OllyB Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 On the brake line issue routing shouldn't be a problem. I think the hel lines sometimes don't seal perfectly on the calipers if not properly prepped, this might be the cause of the spongy pedal? Quote
OllyB Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Just re read, May be a bit of air left after they were swapped back.. 1 Quote

Will be sure to let the ( new ) garage know Are you anywhere near any of the traders on here, far easier to take it to someone who knows what they are doing. I know my mate (who runs a garage) struggled to get my hells on. I wish I'd taken mine to someone on here even if it had meant 200 mile round trip, to know it was done properly. Quote

Bodyboarder81 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 I'm pretty useless with this ! Where do I buy a couple spares from? Quote
350 Russ Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Here's how I have mine fitted, it's worth buying an extra set of p clips from eBay to fix it to the wishbone aswell as the strut, The garage doesn't sound too convincing to me, look elsewhere Quote
Jp606 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 The kits should come with one set of P-clips and you can either re-use the OEM one too like I did, or buy another set. The HEL lines require two P-clips on each side on the front, but they only supply you with one. Quote
Bodyboarder81 Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 Yep I have 2 clips with the kit so will re- use the others as well ..... Pm the zed shed to see if they can help me out Ill order some bleed nips from zmanalex , Thanks Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 We keep replacement bleed nipples on the shelf, drop me a PM if you need to order 1 Quote
