Garyt350z Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Pretty much as the title states, when I apply between 10-70% pressure on brake pedal I get quite a nasty vibration thru the car and steering wheel! Which could it be be, sticking piston in caliper or warped disc? Anyone experienced this before? Quote
Toon Chris Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Sticking brake pad. I'll bet you will find the pad well crusted into the calliper. Quote
Richie94gts Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I get the same thing, v annoying. I haven't looked at it yet, is this going to need a refurbed calliper or just a bit of grease? Quote
Garyt350z Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Cheers mate, I was scared it mite have been a caliper problem cause I wouldn't have a clue how to check or repair, but if it's the pad, it will give me more confidence to check and sort myself! Hooch Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'd say warped disc. There's a member on here who does disk skimming. Someone will post his username I'm sure. (Awkward to find on my tablet) You can buy a guage that checks the run out on the disks. They are called dial tests indicators I believe. Quote
Rock_Steady Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 + 1 to that ^^ it'll be a warped disc Quote
rothers2901 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 warped discs most definitely. Clark motor sport do a great line of discs. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88812-special-package-price-dba-t2-discs-and-hawk-pad/ Quote
ryanmackk Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) This happened to me. I won't say it's not a warped disc 100% but it can also be that you need to grease up your caliper retaining pins. This solved the problem for me. If I had gone and swapped my rotors I'd be out lots of $, so it's always good to eliminate options. Edited October 9, 2014 by ryanmackk Quote
