AJRFulton Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Another month... another problem. Quite a simple one really. My lights will not switch off when the cars stopped. The sidelights are staying on constantly and the battery keeps draining as a result. Sigh..... 4 more weeks Quote
Lexx Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Faulty relay would be my guess. Find the lighting relay in the fuse board and switch it out with another that you know works. Quote
sipar69 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 You haven't offended a very elderly wrinkled old gypsy woman by any chance have you...? 2 Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I would just pull the fuse for now Quote
WhackyWill Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Give the switch and relay a good soak with WD40 and a few wiggles and see if its just a sticky contact. Quote
Will370z Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Bet you cant wait to get rid of that car. Seems like all the potential issues have been rolled up into one vehicle 2 Quote

Sigh..... 4 more weeks unbelievable how bad your car has been - no wonder you can't wait to get rid - I would too (but touching a very large lump of wood) mine has been flawless Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Give the switch and relay a good soak with WD40 and a few wiggles and see if its just a sticky contact. Aren't the park lights controlled by the bcm not a relay You could try disconnecting the battery for a while Edited September 23, 2014 by GIXXERUK 1 Quote
AJRFulton Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 I'm just pulling a fuse for the moment when I park up, it's a pain in the arse but it seems to work without draining the battery. I've got to commute to Lancaster in the morning where I'm working for a few months, so.... I'll get it into an auto spark to sort out. I've had a look at the relays, no water in there or anything... but I dunno.... I'm scunnered with the car, cannot wait to get shot of it. Quote
