Rattle under car - heat cover or something maybe?

Got a rattle when in first and second gear really - can't hear anything past them anyway, is it common for maybe a metal exhaust cover or something could do this if loose? It's 2003 zed so expect the odd rattle now and again! Any ideas?

Could be the heat shields they tend to rust and rattle, hopefully nothing more major than that!

Probably Heat shields on the cats- large jubilee clip is the cheap option (and lasts years) although second hand standard cats are cheap.

Heat shields, it was the rear one on mine that rattled.

Yep mine rattled too so I cut them off!

Cool thanks for the help will get it on a ramp and have a butchers, also like the cheap.. fix jubilee clip if it does the job - Ta!

Can just take them off, there only really for cats and what not if they go under your car so they don't get burned. Some people just use heat tape to replace them.

I traced my rattle (more of a rasp actually) to the inner perforated liner in one of the the tail pipes on the exhaust. I needed someone to rev the engine to hear it though - it didn't vibrate at idle.

I have a rattle at complete idle when warmed up- disappears at 1k rpm.. likely to be the same? Sounds like it's coming from underneath across from the front wheel
