Hi, I have been quoted £150 labour charge to swap all 4 speakers which sounds a lot to me, I was thinking more along the lines of £60-£80? Does anyone know how long it would take and is it easy or tricky? One garage didn't even want to do it and another one didn't ring back with a price. Anybody local to me with the expertise fancy doing it for cash in hand? ;)

I'd always take a crack at it myself, i used to do audio installation on weekends! done loads of builds but i heard the bose system can be a bit tricky! There's probably a guide on the site somewhere!

You could use your Jedi Mindtricks and get it done for free

But honestly, door speakers can be done in an hour and rears in about the same.

Not that hard to do yourself to be honest

Ha ha! I tried "You will fit my speakers for free" but my powers are weak these days , he still said £150. You got me thinking now maybe I should have a go.

Where you from mate? Is be happy to help if you're local to reading

But yeah, I done mine myself and it was easy enough. I defiantly wouldn't pay to get it done (probably cause I'm a tight arsee )

I'm about to do this myself as well, reading up shouldn't be that much of a job! Can't bare the skipping Bose anymore just want to try and keep the steering wheel controls as well

How did you manage all these years?

Basically if you can do a window reset, you can install speakers (in terms of getting door card off)

Thankyou guys, really appreciate the positivity and responses on this, I'm going to have a crack at it myself, are there any special tools needed to remove the plastics without breaking them? Do I need any electrical parts?

10mm socket, Philips screwdriver, I pair of human hands, speakers, speaker wire (unless re-using existing wiring), tea / coffee (delete as appropriate), patience, common sense.

All I can think of right now
