chewy_22
I've been looking for a 350z for some time now and waiting for the right one but I'm slightly confused about the price I should pay, I have seen price range anywhere between 4.5k to 9k for the model I'm after and wondering what would be too expensive or worryingly cheap. I am after ideally 2004, under 65k mileage, non gt, recent clutch and flywheel preferable, no mods just basic and well looked after, what would your opinions be? Thanks
Jay
Out of curiosity why not gt?
chewy_22
I would never use the cruise control so find it pointless to pay extra for something I wouldn't need plus I much prefer cloth seating
brillomaster
hmm, an 04 with that mileage, non GT, i'd say £5.5k - £6k for a good one.
Grundy
Better off going import. Anything from 4-6k.
chewy_22
I would have insurance issues going import :/
Grundy
I would have insurance issues going import :/ Why? Insurance was cheaper for me on an import.
WhackyWill
There is really no difference on insurance between a UK and an Import. As above, an import would be preferable as you will get a low mileage one without leather and cruise for about £5.k to £6k
chewy_22
All quotes ive had have been more expensive on import
Jetpilot
Personally i would say forget about what "price" you should pay and just buy the best car on your budget. In reality most cars will be have an average figure for the particular year, some will be a bit under, some a bit over and most likely there is a reason for that either way. Work out what suits you best, a newer model/year that is in average condition, higher miles etc or a older car with lower miles etc but in excellent condition. As others have said, there is or should be no difference with insurance, just there are less companies willing to quote sensibly for imports, you need to contact specialist insurers (traders on here) to get the best price on either. chewy_22
I will have to double check the quotes then although they were with adrian flux, not looking for anything really new just something that will last me a good few years

Ricey
I will have to double check the quotes then although they were with adrian flux, not looking for anything really new just something that will last me a good few years Then forget all other specs, import/export, optional extras...........just pure pure mechanical quality. The car is generally solid but make no mistake things can and more frequently are going wrong with them. The clutch is a fickle thing - some people see less than 60k and others are running over 100k. These are all 'well looked after cars' we're talking about here. Things like a clutch can run into £800. You're going to need to purchase using your head and nothing else..........don't get excited and impulse buy one that needs work doing to it unless you know exactly what its doing to cost you. WhackyWill
I've had a couple of Imports and no real difference in Insurance, quotes. Just punted around the specialists until I got it down.
370Ad
Import was £200 more than UK for me with the 50 so definitely depends on circumstances. Average mileage on a sports/convertible grouped car is 11k a year. So finding one that's done around 6.5k per year might be harder than you think. If you do find one you will probably pay more for it.
SimonPG
With the Z I wouldn't be too bothered about mileage being less than 65k anyway

BillyZed
Imports do effect insurrance. Mine went up 400 quid due to being an import. I was 23 though
Dean_1983
With regards to insurance and imports .. It's not really the insurance company wanting more money .. It's that some won't quote at all ... I work for a broker and I'd say maybe 6 out of 13 insures on my panel won't cover an import at all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
