NeilMH Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) There is a modest yearning I can't get out of my system and I may have to do something about it (86-89 because more of it was galvanised and was improved in many other ways). It's the very long run 70s/80s Merc SL. I have this image of me relaxing, arm resting on the window ledge, 5L V8 auto, comfortable seat, picnic basket, Panama Hat (thanks Scott at Abbey for that suggestion ), European Roads, summer's day, woman with headscarf, etc, etc. I even like the MB Tex cloth seats. My apologies as I know this all sounds a bit sad I can justify it no more than I could when I bought a 2CV but I just had to have one. I have already done a lot of desk/book/internet research but I just wondered if anyone here had ever owned one. Edited October 22, 2013 by NeilMH Quote

Its the unloved Mercs from the 90's that seem to be the real bargains but they just don't seem as desirable as a late 70s early 80's car. A mate has a 190E Cosworth thats a lovely car to drive Quote
