fairladyz2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hi, so today I took my car to get the tyres replaced and noticed when I got back that the front are 235/45/17 and back are 225/50/17 .. Is this suitable for the zeds? Thanks in advance for any replies Quote
chubbster Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hell no! What he said. wtf is going on here? Why are the back ones that size ffs? Quote
KyleR Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I think standard sizes for JDM 17's are 225/50 and 235/50. Someone may be along soon to correct me. Quote
NeilMH Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) OEM 17s should be Front 225/50/17 Rear 235/50/17 The ones that have been fitted are wrong. Edited October 2, 2013 by NeilMH Quote
Ekona Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Oversteer city! Probably just put the wheels on the wrong way, although that doesn't excuse that nor fitting the wrong sizes. Go back (carefully!) and get them to change them. Quote
fairladyz2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Thanks for the replies.. Yea will be heading back there after work tonight to get them to put the 235's on the rear. 😄 Quote
NeilMH Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Plus the profiles should both be 50, right now you have one of 45 and the other 50. 1 Quote
fairladyz2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Will get them to put the right 225/50's on tonight . Anyone know the OEM load rating and speed rating for import zeds so the tyre place don't give me some silly ones ? Quote
NeilMH Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 This isn't an official OEM Import answer but if it was me I would be looking for tyres with a rating of W or Y. A re-mapped import would be capable of 160 I think - on the appropriate Autobahn or race track with a long straight. Loadings vary but around mid-90s is normal. Higher speed ratings at least suggest that a certain margin of safety was built into the tyre manufacture (having said that you are generally better to go for the premium or well known mid-range tyres). 1 Quote
