mk1_nutter 1
I downloaded the app today and when I selected Japan OBD in settings it doesn't keep the preferenc and I'm not sure what the correct adaptor protocol is. Nor does it keep any other preferences. Any advice?
jdm2003 7
chrispr99, that product says Note: It is not compatible with Nissan vehicles. Specifications: Nissan is not in the list?????
jdm2003 7
ISO 9141-2 is JDM Z33 Protocol
Mudman 528
This works with my Fairlady no problems at all on BT
57jam89 11
Will this work on my 2004 v35?
jdm2003 7
There is a reason why this will work with some JDM'S not not others. Mine is 2003 import says 2002 on books? We can see that Mudman has Uprevved, I think this changes the way the ecu talks to the device. or they swapped ecu from the original JDM ECU. There is some information about Nissan Consult. "In Japan this standard is not mandatory. So RHD cars produced for the Japanese market in the majority do not support the OBDII standard. If the Japanese make a car for the US/EU/Chinees market, they add support of OBDII standard." OBD2 plugs are fitted on European cars as they have to confirm to European legislation and all use the same obd2/3/4 software, but as Japan aren't in Europe they don't have to conform , so although they fitted obd sockets they do not run obd2/3/4 software. Calling the 16pin socket an OBD II socket is technically wrong and causes confusion but alas that's what its called, OBD II is another protocol, you may as well talk French to your Nissan ECU as it understands French as much as it does OBD II, you need to talk to it in Consult. Sebastian 19
Hello , been trying multiple WiFi, by OBD2 readers and finally got them to work on 350z JDM . Tried these expensive ones Obdlink LX, MX and cheap Amazon ones . Verdict : all work with different apps . Obdlink LX, MX scanner works with Car gauge Pro and Motor Data only.( Checked lots of different apps and these 2 apps successfuly established connection with ECU , while OEM app didn't find protocol and manually changed to right one didn't work. Cheap Amazon scanners do exactly the same job . Car Garage Pro - after installation tick Japan OBD and connect / Nissan/ECM Gasoline / engine 10. This should establish connection between ECU and scanner. MotorData - first thing after installation you need to create profile for nissan z33 ( it's free for testing, after successful connection you have to buy plugin for £4.99) and you ready to connect , app will automatically find right protocol. Both apps have all you need . Car Gauge Pro fast live readings and MotorData great for diagnosis , let's you fully understand codes and all warning light etc . Thanks.
