  1. Ok thanks going to use one of these i think. http://www.thetoolboxshop.com/2-021-00-disconnect-type-battery-terminal-without-fuse-holder-1010.html?gclid=CM34yva31MECFaHMtAodbzoAWA
  2. Yeah could do that but its messing about with spanners and i dont think itll do the terminal or the car any good
  3. I have taken the 350z FairLady off the road for the winter but the battery keeps dying (I fitted a new Varta Blue Battery) , i want to run the engine every couple of weeks to keep everything lubed up but its getting a pain recharging the battery every time i want to do it. I think the alarm is running the battery down this led to another post i put up about being locked out which the good folks on this forum helped me with. So i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on fitting a battery isolator switch so i can take the load off the battery, the alarm doesnt seem to mind being not powered up while the battery is disconnected .

    Wiper Issue

I know this has been sort of covered before but i need a more indepth answer please, my wipers have suddenly stopped working when i use the wash function the pump doesnt make a noise and the wipers dont move, however when i switch the wipers on they work fine they just dont work with the combination wash wipe? Ive checked the fuse box at the back of the battery and the one in front of the battery but all fuses are ok , not sure where the fuses are in the footwell has anyone a picture? any help greatly appreciated!
  6. I've got the same issue did anyone find the fuse ?
  7. It's for a 2002 jap import 350z I'm trying to sort out, I need the red + battery terminal cover (mines broken in two) I also need the rubber seals that attach to the boot lid not the ones that fit around the boot opening . Also need the push fasteners that hold the wheel arch trim in place Thanks

  10. Right , finally got into the car without using a brick ,had to wait on the jack I ordered when it arrived it had no slot in it for the sill so had to cut one with the grinder , jacked up the car enough to get the trolley jack under , then had a look for the starter, it was a bit tight under there so while the wheel wasn't as tight in the wheel arch had another look at the bonnet cable, the casing was split to get access to the small inner cable and that was gently pulled and the bonnet released, stuffed the cable back up where I pulled it from and lowered the car and put the battery on charge , luckily the bonnet release still works from inside the car so It's just a case of getting a few new clips and sorting out the door lock which I should have done in the first place! Anyhow thanks to Alex and Keyser and my Dad for all their assistance and everyone who offered to help! Maybe leave this up as it isn't as easy as you think especially if the car has been lowered and it's good to know there is a way in without the brick or the AA !
  11. Thanks Its just a bit trickier to push the button rather than pull the loop if i fed something through a gap in the window.....
  12. Thought about this a lot but was wondering if i pulled the door release handle from the inside on either the Passenger or Drivers side would the door open or do i have to actually push the button? can someone try this and let me know? Thanks
  13. Cheers Russ but thats the last resort Alex do you have spare Cables? Ill Try again tomorrow, its bloody annoying
  14. went back out and had another go at pulling the cable while someone bounced the bonnet, complete fail, - Think ill need a new cable and instructions to replace!!! Ordered another Jack and will try the starter motor method when it comes.....
  15. Hi Everybody ......... Still Locked out...... Tried Carrie-B1s method Fished about for a while but diddnt get anywhere after 2 hours, Just had a crack at Alex s suggestion manage to find the Bonnet cable and give it a tug but nothing just the sound of plastic snapping somewhere around the front of the car and a bit of a baggy bonnet release cable ( Does someone have to be pushing down on the bonnet while im pulling the cable Alex?) Still cant get under the car yet may have to buy another Zed Jack to try Keysers Suggestion......
  16. Thanks AliveBoy but its a lil too far away! Carrie-B1 how did you get the rubber off ?? Does it just pull up?
  17. Im in the UK In Pontefract West Yorkshire. Thanks Alex and Keyser and everyone for all your advice im going to try at the end of the week now when ive finished work to get in, i have some ideas now and ill update this post when i get in and the method used.
  18. Is the cable easy to see when you pull the liner back Alex?
  19. Im going to try Keysers Method when Ive finished my Shifts this week i need to find a trolley jack low enough to get under the car and find the Positive on the Starter Motor...
  20. Yeah with the Jack the wheel brace the mat for your knees the emergency Snickers .................I couldnt be more F*cked off
  21. ARRRGH GOD ALL MIGHTY !!! ZMANALEX gave a good idea but i need to take the wheel off and ill give you half a guess as to where my bloody locking nut key is !!!

  23. Major tip for anyone with a bust door lock _ GET IT FIXED!!!
  24. I thought i might be able to feed a tape measure with a hook on it to grab the door release but it was worse than trying to get a teddy out of those grabber machines at the fair. If i could get the bonnet up i could charge the battery and open the doors , um my jack is in the car. anyway of popping this from the front and if i did this from the underneath how do i release it? Its a pity there isnt an emergency charging point underneath somewhere.
  25. Thanks WhackyWill . . . . . . I have an idea first..........
