Radio code needed after disconecting battery

just need to find out if I need to take a trip to the robbing dealers to get the radio code!! I disconnected the battery today to take steering wheel off to do a bit of carbon look laminating on the controls and when I reconnected the battery the radio was asking for a code! I don't have one as I am second owner, so whats the verdict guru's?

I did not realise that the Bose unit was coded.

I have removed and installed hundreds of them with no coding issue.

That's weird, I had mine disconnect for several hours and the only thing the radio wanted was the radio tuned in again.

Replaced my battery and no probs, though I seem to remember seeing something about the radio being coded to that specific car so something has to be done if it is put in another?.

Yer I've replaced my battery and didn't have to put in a code. Odd.

My old battery used to go flat all the time and I needed the code regularly. Nissan can provide them but the need the serial numbers etc from the back of the headunit to be able to provide the right one, so if you're in a position where you can photo the numbers yourself do it rather than allowing Nissan to charge loads to remove the thing.

I read on here is paired to the ecu, so in and out fine, but different Zed it needs a code.

well head unit is the cars original! how do I remove the head unit? also do i need to disconnect the battery if i remove the head unit?

thanks stu the only problem with it is i have the sat nav no cubby so not sure how to get the sat nav and keyboard out?
