080m40 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Hi I parked my car , however someone was spraying gloss paint some distance away . And wind caused it to land all over car , all over the car paint , windows , rubbers glass etc, I'm livid- anybody what could get it off , safely cheers Quote
DoogyRev Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Clay Bar will do the trick You could also PM Tim @ Envy for further advice Quote
ioneabee Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 clay bar if you're quick (whilst is still relatively soft) - otherwise it'll probably mean something a little harsher Quote
Lexx Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Clay bar will take it off. And it doesn't need to be too quick. A helpful council man covered the back end of mine in blue paint whilst it was in a council lock up. I was at sea at the time, and didn't find the damage until 4 weeks after the incident. A mild clay bar removed it all no problem. Quote
080m40 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 I tried a clar bar , but I'm no expert it wouldn't touch it , I tried t cut comes out slowly but serious rubbing, I tried a small bit with thinners , it came out but be very slow , as car is covered in very light gloss dpecks as I'm trying not to damage paint whilst I try and get it off .... Lexx Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Do not use Thinners or T-cut. You will damage your paint as it's so thin. Use a more agressive claybar. Pay a pro detailer to do it. Edited August 12, 2013 by Lexx Quote

080m40 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Yes I noticed it was so thin , I took it to a bodyshop he said he would use thinners , then polish after , Which I wasn't comfortable with , Quote
080m40 Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Hi there anybody know anyone in the midlands England. Who could do it , cheers Quote
Lexx Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 At the risk of repeating myself.... PRO DETAILER. A bodyshop are usually only anygood at painting and fitting. You need someone who looks after the paint that's already on for a living. Quote
Lexx Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Go onto detailing world forum and have a look for someone local to you. Quote
The G Man Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Have you tried WD40? Seriously, it gets rid of stuff like automotive glues, such as what's behind badges etc, worth a go. 1 Quote
