Damp musty smell?

Hi Guys

 

There seems to be a musty damp sort of smell when I just have the normal blowers on.

 

Put on the air con and the smell vanishes but come back once the air con is switched off.

 

Initial thought was maybe a filter is going a bit mouldy somewhere?

A friend had a similar problem in an old car and apparently ran the heaters on full heat and fan for a journey and this sorted it.

 

Perhaps change pollen filter etc also?

Turned out to be a dead body in the boot.

 

Removed and the smell went. Was rather pleased it wasn't the heater system and a simple fix.

I know the smell goes away with the AC on but may be worth trying one of these to fully clean out the vent and what not however cabin/pollen filter change could be a good start. I was actually going to post today asking where the polling filter is located "been in the passenger foot well of all my other nissans" but couldn't find it there on the zed...

Correct. There is no pollen filter on the 350Z.

Despite an aircon bomb mine has developed a musty pissy smell for the first few mins then when aircon kicks in its fine. Smell doing my head in but gonna bomb it again

Thought that. maybe from previous owner but could only find a pair of scabby knickers so the search continues.
