Hi Guys/Gals!

following on from the previous leather care thread could anybody recommend a good product that would shift the build up of sweaty palm gunge from the steering wheel without damaging the leather covering?

I know it does not sound cool or impressive but mild soapy water is all you need, rinse with a clean wet cloth and let dry naturally...

You have to be very carefull with cleaners... they might do a good job but later on after a good summer season the leather will start to dry and crack irreversably...

Leather in car interiors have to withstand heat and cold and UV attack, for this reason they have coatings applied, which will protect from this. (Imagine if you leave your leather jacket in the sun over a summer season, baking in some cases over 40deg C (cabin temperature)and see how it comes out...)

Also Nissan will test against other common chemicals including sweat...

Some cleaners are too acidic, have spirits, or elements which will take the flexibility out of the leather...or other chemicals which can damage the treatments applied by Nissan...

My advice... warm soapy water, clean with a very soft bristle brush and rinse with clean water (wet cloth, don't soak it) ...and let it dry naturally...
