Vortec27
Hi all As I'm wanting a bit more boost I am thinking of change my pulley size to 3:12 or 2:87 what I need to know is on the v2 sc system is it the tooth cog one I have to change for more boost ? Ps any links welcome Thanks vortech
Keyser
No Mate it's the front ribbed pulley you change down to a 3.12 or 2.87 You can change the toothed pulley setup but most don't. About 1-2psi increase for each step down. Watch the jack shaft speeds at less than a 2.87 as they exceed manufactures spec at top rpm

Keyser
I use a few suppliers for Vortech parts and local car parts place can get the Gates belts, you could drop Tarmac a PM he may be able to help Also used these guys but delivery will take a while http://www.superchargersonline.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=510_1071_1073_1305_1310 Also what size belt is needed for 2:87 / 3:12 That depends on your setup, how many pulleys you have and Gen1 or Gen2 - http://www.superchargersonline.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=510_1153_1316&products_id=5012 http://www.superchargersonline.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=510_1153_1316&products_id=5011 Whatever belt you run on with the 3.33 you will need 0.5" shorter for the 2.87 pully (I Think thats correct) Also are they safe to run on stock block ? Thanks vortec27 Depends how far you push it, what supporting Mods and who / how it is mapped in, last year I bought a 350z with a blown engine, when we pulled the VQ lump out we found 5 smashed pistons That was just running an after market ECU with a bad a map - was really quick ..................................................... until it destroyed itself! So it's only safe if you do it right!!

Vortec27
Hi. All found out my setup is the first setup so it's gen1 . But from what I've been reading on belt sizes for the 3:12 pulley some say 93.5" and others say 93" is there anyone that can confirm ?
The Chubby Ninja
mine must only be 79" as its the v3 and must be a different setup. as for the 93 and 93.5 i dont think it will matter as the half inch can be taken up with the tensioner. Vortec27
It all about what way you route the belt
wizard
Think I use a 2034mm GATES belt for 3:13 pulley size. You will probably snap, shred and a pop a few belts before you get it right. I certainly did.
