Z steering cd steering wheel controls

hello im a new member,happy new year ,had my Z for 6 months now great car my non bose cd changer has died,looking to buy a new double din cd but still want my steering wheel controls to work ? anyone changed theres ??

You might need a patch lead but that will depend on which headunit you get.

as long as you buy a main brand headunit you should be able to keep most of the steering controls except the phone ones

As SMD says, replacing the head unit with a main brand one AND the associated patch lead maintains most of the steering wheel controls. I changed mine for an Alpine double DIN along with the patch lead and the volume and track selection buttons were not affected, but the phone buttons in the middle of the 2 now act as a 'source' button (i.e. select radio, CD etc).
