Good news! Well I pick mine up this evening but I won't be fitting it until the New Year.

I've ordered a reversing camera from HK so I doubt this will be with me before Jan.

What I mean is I've got the Bose stereo with tape deck and 6cd changer but would i keep this and put the HU in the cubby bit above it?

theres not enough room in the cubby above to take the depth of a head unit, its ditch the bose or nothing im afraid.

Even if there was apace wiring in 2 seperate HU's would be a little bizarre

Only thing that you can put in the cubby or behind it is a flat screen like a tablet or a satnav or a screen from a pc or HU

Ok cheers guys, sorry Im a bit late. So which Sat Nav would you go for then? Regarding the sound, Ive just bought a cassette thing that I plug into my Iphone so im fine with that and I will probably buy this from ebay so that the iPhone is stable, does anyone know of this and if it will be any good?

also, Halfords are doing deals on the 5 inch and the 6 inch screen Tom toms. Which one should I go for, ie which will fit the cubby best? I read in someone elses post that the 6 inch does not fit properly and he had to make some adjustments to the cubby.

I fitted my appradio this weekend and after you plug your iphone in you can have Navfree on the 6" display which is cool.

Whole install cost £200!

Did you have the bose sound system and factory tapedeck/6d thing? What Appradio Pioneer did you buy?

Also I read on a review on Halfords that when you take a call on your iphone, you lose the destination on the free map app and have to start over again, has this happened to you?

The best free sat nav for your phone is M8 Sat Nav, I dont know if there is a way you can get that on the head unit, incredible for a free app!

I have been looking at this Pioneer App Unit in halfords for £149.99, I really want it! I'm glad it's been fitted ok!

Guys, Im more than likely going to be purchasing the Pioneer SPH-DA100 AppRadio which is more expensive than the one in the header.

Do any of you know if Halfords could fit this for their £29.99 fitting fee, and what other leads would I need? I really dont want to be fitting it myself as the threads on how to fit them seem far too complicated for me and I hate manuals/instructions as I lose patience with them.

Thanks in advance.

I do have bose and the sound is much better.

I got the cheaper appradio, haven't experienced any problems as of yet but it's only been in the car for 3 days.

I wouldn't let halfords fit it, you need a wiring harness facia adaptor and a bit of soldering to fit the DA02.

I have decided on the one I am going to go for which is below and bought it this morning. I've also got the iPhone 4S and will keep this for a while.

However, I might want to have a go at doing it myself. I can get it done for £55 per hour, but the guy said I would need loads of leads including a Bose one. Now I have looked at the guide and would need the following:

http://incartec.co.uk/nissan/1929/1034/2056/78/Browser.aspx

But the guy who would install it has said I would also need a certain BOSE lead for the amplifier which will cost £30, so in total he said he can get all leads for £108. plus his servicing which will be £110 so about £220. Does this sound right and like a good deal?

Cheers guys

Chris

You don't need any extra cables for the amp, if he means to amplify the signal you can do the 'Buster hack'

Also you only need the '29' steering patch cable, the '007' is the older mode and not requiredl, so over £100 for cable is steep you just need the bose loom, the steerping patch cable (29) and the fascia, the 'Buster hack' doesn't require any extra cable at all but will probably be needed or the volume will be very low.

It's not a terribly hard thing to do you just have to be very careful and make sure you do everything exactly as in the guide :thumbs;

I had one bought for me for my birthday good stereo once get it all set up and going. I am having a few troubles with the steering controls at mo but that is probably not down to the headunit.

Theres a lot of wires to hide though haha

Did you get the correct adapter? 29-020

Posted

Yeah I've got the 29-020 & the company also sent me the old type but still neither are working properly

I did also try & set them up on the stereo with the controls however that has had no joy either.

Lost for ideas now ha
