philw99 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Can someone confirm my calculations are correct? Got new wheels ordered Rota GTR in Gunmetal 18x9.5" 5x114mm ET30 now need some tyres, i'm thinking 255 on the rear and 245 on the front? this sound ok/good idea? Calculation: or should i go 45 all round?? Many Thanks Phil Quote
Gudzy Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Personally I'd be looking for staggered width wheels and going for 245/40 front and 275/40 rear. Captain has sold some 18" wheels recently which had 245/40 and 275/35 tyres on, you could ask him what he thought about going for a lower profile on the back. Quote
brillomaster Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 i reckon 255 40 18 on the front, and 275 40 18 at the rear - differs to the original sizes by +0.34% and 0.00% respectively... Quote
Ekona Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 You want to keep the 20mm stagger F to R if at all possible, else you'll end up inducing either understeer or oversteer (in your example). Quote
philw99 Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 Wheels have arrived Still investigating tyres.. been told to look at bigger than 255 at the rear. anyone got any comments on this? Typical me can't find Vredestein tyres in the size i want Quote
philw99 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Tyres ordered Gone for vredestein as a lot of the Supra lads really like them. Hopefully will get the new wheels on me z next week Quote
philw99 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 245 40 18 front 255 40 18 rear. Wanted 265 on the back but the price put me off. Might get them next time. Quote
philw99 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 That bad hey vredestein don't appear to do a 265 Quote
philw99 Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Your TCS may get twitchy times with those sizes. That dosn't sound good don't want that. Quote
Neilp Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Should be 245 and 275 , 245 is quite stretched on a 9.5j rim Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 When you bought the wheels didn't they suggest the right tyres... Quote
