djrm Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 Hi everyone Bit of a strange one here. Has anyone else ever had a damp smell in their Z after a bit more rain than normal? I seem to have this problem now and am wondering whether or not there could be a leak? Is there a common leak point anywhere? Neilp Posted April 26, 2012 Share Posted April 26, 2012 Recharging the system won't stop the smell. The smell is bacteria laying on the coil and in the drains an ducts. Don't use the a/c cleaning aerosols as they make a massive mess of the inside of your car and don't work. Make sure you use a decent one if you do. Sometimes that gets a bit whiffy in damp weather The smell for me usually occurrs if i turn the aircon off, having had it switched on for 10 mins or more.
