MrG Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Hi all, I'm considering purchasing a low entry jack to use on the Garage Jack Points of the car. Question is, how far will it need to reach for the front one? Ride height is stock so I'm pretty sure I'll need a low entry jack. I'm looking at something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290693142514. As I say though, I don't know if it will reach the front jacking point. Mack Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 I have a standard halfrauds jack, I can just about jam it under the rear jacking point but the front is out of the question, it is quite far back from the bumper, might be a good idea to measure it. A lot of folks on SXOC (other forum I go on) rave about them. roadtrip Posted April 23, 2012 Share Posted April 23, 2012 I bought a Sealey 1020LE 2 tonne low entry (http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=ViewProduct&method=mViewProduct&productid=15351) a few months ago just for changing wheels occasionally as it was only £41 from eBay. I can get it onto the rear jacking point (just) but no where near the front one, although I've not tried Sam Mcgoo's suggestion of behind the front wheel. For the price I'm very pleased with it but for regular use I'd have gone for something better with a longer reach and a proper jack pad. Sam Mcgoo Posted April 23, 2012 Share Posted April 23, 2012 This is how I do it I always go up on all four wooden blocks as it gives you more room for the jack and more room to move the jack handle up and down when its right under the car.
