Think a lot of companies these days are cutting back on what is included, so it pays to check the small print. Personally I tend to use confused.com to get some benchmark figures, then check what each policy includes.

I always use the compare sites, just did one for a 370z roadster and it came in at £290 with Esure...Yes fully comp, protected etc....and yesssss I am the wrong side of 40, only just though....

I have never found a broker that can match any compare sites....Sorry brokers

It can be hit and miss. Run the same quote with over 5 modifications and see what result you get then.

Compare sites never worked for me. They can only be good for a guide and then you contact the insurer directly and you get the quote minus the commission! :D

CICC is who i'm with and I love them!

Can't believe I said that about an insurance company! :bangin:

Speak to a specialist insurer if you can, price comparison sites are guilty of selling stripped back policies with many exclusions (eg DOC cover, courtesy car etc)

Feel free to give us a try, link below:

I will 2nd this.

Seeing as you have insured my car for me:)

AXA and Swift are about the same as that. Before l had the mods I was with AXA paying

Monthly £345 total and that was with one

claim from a hit and run.

Thenoname

All depends on driving experience, area, profession etc etc... I have only been driving for 4 years[/

l would like to think that the folk on this Forum could work

that one out themselves lol

AXA, not great from my experience!!! I run my own business and deal with a fair amount of performance cars, 2 employees one being 22 but was born 40 years old :teeth:

I got a quote from AXA for £3250 that I was happy with but I was kept waiting for the bill to pay. After 2weeks I kept calling as I was worried as I like to keep my insurance up to date, I then got a letter telling me that due to the nature of the cars I sold they had withdrawn cover

I then had to spend a lot of time trying to get new insurance with the added joy of being 'insurance declined' because of these idiots!!!! I'm now with Swinton Commercial / NIG and fully covered thankfully!!

I was speaking from my personal experience, but doubt if I would use them for running a business car.

The price is one of the lowest but then they do boast a 90% NCD as do Swift who are one and the same.

I liked the Idea of going on line and being able to change vehicles or registration number.

But that was it.

They are very slow in answering emails and phone calling is a bit of a lottery.

The older staff seem to be very helpful and on the ball, but some of the younger ones can be hard work.

My missus`s old car was insured with Swift. We have never had to make a claim before, but unfortunately she ran into the back of another car one day and so we had to make a claim. My god, it was the worst experience ever. The bodyshop they used must have employed Stevie Wonder to do the repairs as we had to send the car back 3 times and it still had so many problems afterwards the car was unusable.

Swift didnt want to know, and actually had the cheek to say that a lot of the problems were already there, and other problems happened to coincidentally appear the same time as the accident. I couldnt believe it, the car was a low mileage minter prior to the accident and I had 2 seperate guys from Swift on the phone telling me that there was nothing they were prepared to do. My missus was in tears for weeks as we then had to hire a car at our own expense as her car wasnt safe to drive, before we finally sold it to a dealer for a fraction of what it was worth just to get rid of it.

Would never use them again.

I would have been like a dog with a bone.

1st thing I would have done was got in touch with a Solicitor who deals with the car industry.

Then fired of an email to the CEO of AXA/Swift asking what kind of a cowboy firm are they running.

I could go on but one thing is a must.

Always keep photo's of your car as the eye does not lie.

The assessors of insurance companies are there for one purpose.

To protect the companies money.

And when you send the email, cc it to BBC1/watchdog.

They will see the cc and start taking you seriously.
