JamesRo Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I'm hoping I can claim in some way from someone (not on my insurance) so any advice appreciated, it looks like its keeping air still but a very obvious deformation in the lip. I live in smallfield surrey btw so under tandridge council i think. Quote
Lexx Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, the prize for most random first post goes to........ Pot holes need to be a certain size before it is possible to claim against the council claiming negligence and improper maintenence of a roadway. You would have to take pics, and then be able to prove it was that pot hold that caused the damage. Believe me, you are better off just sorting it out of your own pocket. Quote
martinmac Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Take several photos of the pothole and make sure there is a time/date display on them. Forward them to your local council and be prepared for a long battle. If there are any white marks around the hole it will be a lot easier as this means its registered for repair. Quote
JamesRo Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks, been lurking here for a while but search has always been enough so far. I just hope it's repairable if i'm paying for it. Quote
Leeroy Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 A mate of mine successfully claimed for 2 damaged wheels from the council, as said make sure the hole is big enough and take photo's with a ruler in it. Quote
Lexx Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 put some pics up of the wheel, we may be able to offer you an informed(ish) opinion. If its just a bent lip, then it will likely be repairable. Ive the wheel itself is buckled, then it will be a new one. Are they standard 18"'s or standard Rays? If so, you should be able to pick up the former for £60ish for one, and the later for £100 for one. Quote
