manphibian Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Let's all hold our breath! (or not) Found a bit of corrosion on the front wing, where it meets the bumper, took it to Chorley Nissan in Blackpool who've taken some pics and will let me know... Think i already know the answer Quote
Mega Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Are you claiming on an otherwise unwarrantied car just as the car should not have corrosion when so new? Or do you have a warranty with third party? Sorry for asking: This sounds like a "common topic": But I'm new to these parts Quote

Or do you have a warranty with third party? Sorry for asking: This sounds like a "common topic": But I'm new to these parts UK Zeds have a NISSAN 12 year anti-corrosion warranty...but maufacturers will do their utmost to use the small print to avoid paying claims. It's fairly obvious to me that the lips of both the front and rear wings are vulnerable, so you need to keep the insides free of dirt and mud and keep applying waxoyl or similar at regular intervals. manphibian Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Well, after all my sarcasm and doubting... Got a call from Chorley Nissan today saying the claim was approved and the bodyshop will be in touch to arrange the job Impressed! Quote
Lexx Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I would save your enthusiasm for them until you have seen the quality of the completed job! Quote
Grantmitchell Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Result congratulations. How old is your car? Quote

REALLY? wow.. so ALL Zeds built still have this warranty? I wonder if they'd cover my tiny rust spot from a stone chip? Quote
Grantmitchell Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If its like the usual manufacturers warranties, you will need a stamp from the dealer and it wont cover stone chips, just corrosion making its way through the paint from the inside. Quote
manphibian Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Yeah, no stone chips. this is coming from the inside. I've used the bodyshop that they use before, they're pretty good, so fingers crossed it should be good as new Car's a 2005, 42k miles. Mostly Nissan service history, including last stamp. The guy said that was important. Quote
Vik54 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 They can not say that Nissan service history is 'important' -especially when its bodywork related As long as it has been serviced in line with interval requirements all warranty issues should be honoured Quote
HaydnH Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I've asked about these corrosion warranty stamps at both of my last services, according to Nissan if you have a FNSH then you don't need the additional stamp, the extra stamp is only needed if you get a service elsewhere when the car needs to be inspected by Nissan... I'm sure they'll probably argue about it if I ever need to claim though! Quote
goodatcrashing Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Took mine into the dealers today for bubbling on both rear arches, the usual pictures were taken. They phoned back wanting me to take the car in for "paint thickness checks". Apparently they like to find out if its ever been resprayed and may try to wiggle out if it has. Fingers crossed. manphibian, did they check your paint thickness? Quote

Doug86 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 What about corrosion to the wheels? Do they count? Quote
manphibian Posted October 21, 2011 Author Posted October 21, 2011 update: Car's all done and back to perfection again Big thumbs up's to Nissan and Trident Bodyshop in St.Annes Quote
