ioneabee Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 is it true that you have to pull over to make a "hands free" call ? whats the point in that ??? Quote
Chris`I Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 No of course not To be fair the 370z hands free is very good from what I've used it. Way better than our Alfa which is really hard to hear when you call the car (ie when I call Amanda if she is out in the Alfa its not very good quality). Quote
EH 370z Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Yeah the Alfa one's are a bit poo. Mrs EH 370Z's Mito Hands Free is awful, I can hear an echo of me, loader than I can hear her. However, I suspect this is what she wants me to think Quote
R35LEE Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Handfree calls are legal. 370z Phone kit is good but the road noise while trying to talk is a little annoying as you end up shouting or at least getting very loud on motorways Quote
Ebized Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 You can adjust the volume for your phone in the cars settings to suit you/your phone, when the mobile signal strength allows its use of course. Having the phone in sight helps - to not answer those calls you don't want to and identify contacts who have not been 'beamed' into the car's memory for screen display. Brodit mount in mine: Quote
R35LEE Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I will stick to shouting Chris! Also when you turn the in call volume up it goes very tinny like there isn't enough bass. It could be my girlfriends squeeky voice and not the phone kit at all though. It does the job fine though Quote
Ebized Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 It could be my girlfriends squeeky voice saying WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU Quote
R35LEE Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 99% of the time it's to tell me that dinner has been ready for several hours Quote
EH 370z Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I know its slightly off topic, but Wouldn’t it be good if someone could invent a heads up display (like the BMW on the windscreen) That would display text messages. Because I get these more than calls on my own time and they are just as tempting to have a "Quick look" when driving but infinity more dangerous... Quote
Chris`I Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 My old car PC in my 350z would bring them up in fookin big letters on the sat nav screen. Did make it easier to read them Quote
Railgun Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 This post isn't what I thought it was gonna be............ Quote

Craig782 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Some systems read texts out through the stereo already, misses Abarth 500 did on the fiat blue and me system, worked pretty good Quote
geoff-r Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I must be the only one that thinks the hands free is shocking. I can't use it, people can't hear me if I go above 20mph, on the motorway you may as well forget it. I always carry my headphones in the Nissan so I can plug it into my phone. The Parrot I bought for my Audi though is amazing Quote
SMD Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I wonder if the units vary between cars....I'm with geoff-r in that the sound quality of the hands free kit in mine is terrible. It's one of the very few things that I really don't like on the 370. Quote
