cerealuk Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I've persuaded a friend of my dads to buy a Zed Well to be fair it didnt take more than a quick ride in mine for him to talk himself into it He purchased one yesterday and its very clean and shiny but he's a bit worried about something This morning when he drive it off down the road there was a blue haze left behind... He had started it from cold and then literally driven away so there was no chance for the engine to warm up but hes concerned about the blue haze left behind as he seems to think this may be a sign of piston problems or something in v6's Any ideas? Ricey Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 V6's definitely 'steam' a lot in the morning but that should be white not Blue which would suggest oil which is a more concerning - i'm sure the experts will be along to advise soon enough. Quote
cerealuk Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Not sure if its worth mentioning but he said the car has a pop charger on it I read in a couple of places that blue smoke could be due to breathing problems.. might this cause it? Quote
JetSet Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 V6's definitely 'steam' a lot in the morning. They certainly do, especially if they've been standing for a while. Pete Quote
Zugara Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 if its blue....its oil burning off I would like to think its a drippy valve stem seal, over night a few drops land on a piston, start up in the morning oil burns off giving the blue smoke. Quote

CaptainSensible Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Was the car serviced before he bought it? It could be some excess oil buring off? Quote
