coldel Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Daft question to the educated on here...but as a 3 week old owner need to know. Got 6 spoke alloys, need new tyres, if I get a set that fit the standard alloys would they fit fine on a set of Rays if I got a set further down the line? Quote
Beau Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Depends on the width of your rims that you have know. The standard rays are 8" and 8.5" rear, in which have 225 in front and 245 45 18 rear. I presume the ones you have at the moment are 18" as well. Quote
ChrisS Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Just remember 225 and 245 both 45 - 18s and check what you have on now. Quote
350ash Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 They'll fit. The wheels you've got at the moment are 8" wide front and back but you stick need to put 225s on the front wheels and 245s on the rears which is the same as you'd put on Rays. It's also worth noting that although your current wheels are the same widths front and back the wheels are different - you can't fit a rear wheel on the front axle (something I found out too late when putting winter tyres onto a set of standard wheels and I couldn't get the wheels on the car ) Quote
ZMANALEX Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 225/45 x 18 and 245/45 x 18 will fit both the early 6 spoke and the Rays Quote
coldel Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Anyone tried putting 40 profile tyres on their alloys? How does it look? Feel? Bugger anything up? Quote
JetSet Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I would imagine it'll throw the speedo and the mileometer out a bit as the rolling radius will be different. Pete Quote
