stevo1179 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Very similar situation to myself, I had an AA inspection on a car I had my heart set on. Came back that all the off side panals had been repaired. I was gutted.....and still searching. Quote
bodyboarder Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Flip me , bet your glad you had that aa inspection done I bought a car once and the first time i cleaned it properly noticed it had some paint work done, i was so so gutted. Made the right choice to walk, would be in the back of your mind all the time. Quote
Ebized Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 You so often find that something that appears good value there turns out to be a reason why Hence my original post. It seems great value, if it all checks out Sorry its turned out that way ersen, but better you find out now, rather than later. Quote
was8v Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Most cars a few years old will have had some repair work, either just paint or panels. The only way to be sure is to buy new.... even they they can be damaged between production line and you driveway. So long as the repair has been done well with OEM panels then surely there is little problem? Quote
Waitey Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Why are you avoiding cars that have had paint work? I had the front and rear of my Range Rover sprayed just because i like to have things mint. One of my friends Clio V6's gets a front end and arch respray every winter. Quote
bodyboarder Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Because there are alot of untrust worthy people out there who would say it was sprayed due to stone chips but has actually been crashed. I would never buy a car that has had paint work done , because if i noticed it had been painted then other people or a person looking to buy it from you later will notice. Not worth the hassle, thats just me though. Quote
