Noob questions plenum and pop charger

Hi

As the title says I'm after a bit of info on a plenum and pop charger as next yr I intend on doing a uprev . Would I be able to see if I have a plenum fitted also is this a pop charger or just a after Market air filter ?

doesnt look like a pop charger. but one that is very similar.

 

not sure on the spacer tho

Yeah you can tell if its there under the plenum there should be a bit of metal 5/16s or 1/2 " - you would tell by looking from the side.

 

That is an aftermarket filter but not sure if its a pop charger

Thanks for the fast replies does the pop charger make it much louder ? If I'm honest my set up is loud enough with the japapeed exhaust something else I'll prob change next yr.

People are a bit marmite about the pop charger... it didnt make my car much louder tbh just a nicer growl..

Over 3500rpm with stock exhaust it sounds like a lion who's just sat on a nest of fireants.......with a decent zorst I think it goes even more nuclear.

 

In fact haven't some people who've changed the zorst gone back to stock/panel filters to get the ponies back in the stable?

Thanks Tarmac and Alex but I'll have to leave it for a couple of months as gotta buy all my Xmas presents still and the mrs is expecting our first child in 2wks . And there will be loads of extras to buy in sure.

 

Sparks if u pm Alex he'll tell u the delivery cost I've bought a few things off him and his p&p has always been very reasonable .

 

I see people have been fitting the cosworth panel filter what are the gains / disadvantages of these compared to the pop charger??
