djrm Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I do hope this doesnt happen... It will kill the whole thrill and point of F1... It's supposed to be a loud 200mph death-defying race... Soon there will be a green-peace team ffs.... Quote
srobrien Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Might enter my girlfriends corsa What a load of crap though they need to make it more exciting to keep the enthusiasm for the sport up, they need to remove the restrictions rather than adding more and more. R Quote
JetSet Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Engine specs for 2013 confirmed. Team orders allowed for 2011 with caveats. A quick round up of regulation changes here. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 275796.stm Pete Quote
djrm Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Still the same 750bhp though.... shouldn't make any difference to the viewing aspect... just that beautiful noise!! Quote
JetSet Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Some further info....Only 5 engines per driver for 2013, down to 4 for 2014 . Gearboxes will now have to last 5 races instead of 4. HD coverage from 2011 very likely Pete Quote
Chesterfield Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I thought F1 was supposed to be the pinnacle of engineering and motorsport. F1 has been going down hill for years, but if this happens it will be the end of the sport in my eyes +1 We will soon see road cars outclassing F1 cars. 1.6 Turbo with max 10,000 RPM? Won't a radical give that a run for its money? Quote
Chris`I Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 1.6 Turbo with max 10,000 RPM? Won't a radical give that a run for its money? Radical will probably win. You could turn up in a Capraro T1 and give em a race Quote
HaydnH Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Moveable rear wings and Kers could make for some interesting overtaking - not sure I'd want to be in the lead with someone < 1 second behind me going in to the home straight though - seems a little unfair if someone wins a race because they were in second place on the last corner... hopefully that won't happen though. rich5259 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 new rules for much smaller wings and shaped underbody now - lots more skill is going to be needed to get the maximum out of these http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9307861.stm Quote
Chris`I Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Will certainly be interesting Wonder who will win the race to get the best underfloor aero going, that will win or lose the championship me thinks. Quote
CaptainSensible Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I still don't see why they can't just say everyone gets x litres of fuel per race, build whatever engine you want. Would make for some great racing with a mix of turbos, V8s, V12s etc. Quote
