Zugara Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Can you describe the knocking a bit more? May be your rushing to change gear? It does take some time to get used to it. Quote
Stew Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Do you wear really big shoes????? Welcome along to the club. It's not something I've found myself but if you wear a thin soled trainer if might help for get a 'feel' for it. A lot depends what you have come from car wise too. Quote
Husky Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 just take your time. sounds like your revs are all wrong for the gear change Quote
big.h Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 i came from a civic type R, when im crawling round a corner in 2nd and go to acelerate gently the car judders, almost as if the air mass meters cant regulate. just got normal size feet!!! Quote
Stew Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 hmmmmmmm. If you are driving it smoothly then it sounds as if there is an underlying issue perhaps. Quote
big.h Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 what would you say it is? knackered air flow meters? the clutch is out when it happens, its like the acceleraor is to sensitive. either on or off no in between. Quote
Neilp Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 what would you say it is? knackered air flow meters? the clutch is out when it happens, its like the acceleraor is to sensitive. either on or off no in between. does it have a throttle controller fitted? i dont get any judder in second etc but it took some time getting used to the clutch Quote
gazhull8474 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Maybe if someone had fitted a sports clutch to it that will make it judder in the lower gears or when first pulling off. Best way is to fin someone local who has a standard clutch and let them drive it with you in the car to see if it feels alot different Quote
big.h Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 its still under warrenty so i'l take it back to the garage and let them have a look at it i think. i couldnt think of the right word last night, it kangaroo's forward like you would as a learner rather than judder. just like when you could have a dodgy maf but its fine when your up the revs a bit.. Quote
M13KYF Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 perhaps the MAF sensor or cam sensor is on its way. Should show up on the dash though with the Engine Management light coming on. Does sound liek you have a issue though so best go back to the garage that you bought it from Quote
big.h Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 it only seems to happen when the engine is fully warmed up as well. Quote
maz77 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 worth checking what clutch the car have. I have an ACT clutch and prostreet fly wheel and had a little judder in 1st and 2nd. the issue was getting my clutching right and 1500 mile later its was gone. a knackered gearbox mount could also give a bit of judder. this is just to complete the list really as sensors issues could be possible too might be worth finding a local 350z owner to test drive your car and compare. getting your revs right also makes a difference to the club by the way and stick some pics of the car after you wash it and wax it Quote
big.h Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 well the cars going back to the garage in the morning to be checked out as the problem is getting worse, im now convinced its a clutch and flywheel problem as you can hear it rattling outside the car and when you release the clutch. it also gets worse when the cluch has been used and it hot. not really what i wanted after a week of ownership any other ideas what could be wrong? theres just no balence or feel with the cluch. CaptainSensible Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Is it just transmission clatter? Pretty common when changing gear at low speeds. Plus the gear change does take a while to get used to, I was bunny hopping like a learning when I first got my Zed! Quote
big.h Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 i really think there is an under lying issue, as its really not nice to drive at all. But we'll see what the garage says. Hope its something simple!! Quote
Chris`I Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Where abouts are you based matey? Maybe a member could jump in and test it for you Quote
big.h Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 when i get it back if its no better or they say nothings wrong with it, i think husky is the closest member to me in coventry i'll ask him to take a drive in it and see what he thinks if he dosent mind Quote
big.h Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 well the garage has had it 2 weeks and installed a new clutch and flywheel which has made the issue better but not totally cured the problem, thy've got a mechanic from nissan's head office coming to look at it now. anyone got any other idea's what else it could be?
