threefiftyz Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 looks a bargain at the current price fitting wise im sure it'l be fine with the help of the dd adaptor, iso loom etc Quote
sparky370z Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 i have just fitted a double DIN. this should be OK. you will need the ISO loom adapter. plus a steering wheel adapter (if u have steering wheel controls). and a fascia adapter. i have fitted a rear camera too. quite jazzy bit bloody long winded. spursmaddave Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Looks like a nice unit, expect the price to go up a fair bit though..... Good luck Quote
Millzzz Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Yeah I am, don't actually expect I'll win it, I can always try though! Cheers for the assistance chaps! Helpful as always Quote
sparky370z Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 with no steering wheel controls. it would be literally plug and play. prob be worth about 240 ish. Quote
Millzzz Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Hmm, I could probably live with that tbh. I think I was going to buy the same unit when I first bought the car for £800 odd More money than sense Quote
sparky370z Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 i have always got mine second hand. they have always been spot on. usually been very well looked after too. Quote
Millzzz Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 I WON! Sorry I get very excited when it comes to eBay £215, not bad if I say so myself, considering I nearly bought the same unit for 4 times that Ok, how do I change it? Quote

Millzzz Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 If I can do it myself, I'd rather do it that way. A) I'd learn something It's bloody cheaper! Quote
spursmaddave Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 If I can do it myself, I'd rather do it that way. A) I'd learn something It's bloody cheaper! You just got it for £215 and you want to save £50 It should be pretty easy though, just have a look on here at the guides. With no steering controls its pretty straightforward Quote
sparky370z Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 nice one mate!! do it yourself, the hardest part will be removing the old radio. and stashing the wires behind the new radio. Quote

Mate I'm totally with you on the having a crack ethos....however electrics scare me - everything looks fine then BOOMBOOMBOOMFIZZZTTBOOMKBLAMKKKKSSSKKKSSSTTTFIZZTT. I'd rather put my feet up and get it right If your confident with electrics then fair play. I think there are a ruck of guides. Also Sparky recently installed his - maybe you could sling him a PM to see what guides he used to save yourself some searching http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=43072 Quote

rob d Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 i have just installed a JVC unit. Took over a day due to inscuitable wiring BUT I got there ! Theres a thread here on doing it. It's a dash out job and a fair bit of fecking about. Make sure you buy all the conversion loom bits as well or you will be utterly buggered. The key thing is : the blue/white cable that is 'loose' as in no spade but sticking outthe plug is for a 12V supply to trigger the Bose Amp. Also the handbrake cable simply needs a good earth and then no need to disassemble the tunnel. Enjoy :-) Quote
