My original front tyres (RE040 Bridgestone) need replacing after 16,000 miles, what good replacement choices do i have for the same kind of distance? I never use my car for the track.

Vredstien ultrac seem to be getting good reviews too. A fair few go for Toyo proxys as well though I'm not sure about their longevity.

Are you going to replace all four?

Have a search in this section. LOADS of reviews as this is one of the biggest topics covered on the forum.

If you are only planning to replace the fronts have a search on mixing tyres too.

What are your thoughts on the bridgestones RE040???

What kind of budget do you have?

I got it wrong, my tyres are the RE050a's. I'm going to change both of my fronts but still doing some research on which brands. Are the Falken 452's better than the Bridgstone RE050A's, if there the same i might go for the Falken's simply because they are cheaper.

RE050s are some of the best tyres you can put on the Zed, stick with them and don't downgrade to the Falkens :)

+1 for standard sizes, even if they are a bit noisy

I've just checked my vehicle health check dated 20/03/10 and all four tyres (Bridgestone RE050A) have the same tread left - inner 2, mid 3, and outer 2. Are all four nearly ready for replacing?

Er definatly soon. Legal limit is 1.6 mm I think or there abouts.

Some advise under 3mm to take care in wet conditions due to the ability to shed water is reduced.

do the z's with 18"rays tend to wear unevenly on the front- I have noticed that my Re040s are much more worn on the inside than the rest of the trye surface?

shouldn't happen ... check tracking
