wheels sprayed black

i just got a quote today to get my wheels and door handles sprayed black. pro job, 255 squid for the lot. gloss finish, think i would prefer a mat finish but apparently is harder to match them up well.

 

this ound about right to everyone or a rip off?

I'd go for satin finish. Gloss can be too shiny sometimes. Satin is an inbetween i'm sure.

Its a good price but you can pay £40-£45 per wheel to powdercoat the wheels and get the handles painted together with ?roof ?mirrors etc as a job lot for about the same or less .

 

The point i want to make is that PC is far more durable than painting and so its worth considering

got mine powder coated satin black for £210

 

most places round me charge £75 a wheel ex VAT

it's costing me £320 to have my wheels powder coated that includes tyre removal/ refitted and balanced.

Powder coating is a much better and will last a lot longer, mine are going to be acid dipped then bead blasted.

My Nismo's are Gloss black Matt, you'll get to see them on Sunday

 

Cost me £300.00 to get them done, same day turn-around with a courtesy car for the day

 

So the price you got quoted seems pretty good to me..............

Just sprayed my wheels , spoiler and front section of the bumper all for £30 ! Done it all my self , havent laquered the wheels as i wanted them mat, seems to be ok. Will put some pics up when i get a chance

without laquer that won't last long, give it one good winter and they look shocking.

 

for matt finishes yuo can get a clear coat to spray on. it protects the paint and gives a harder finish

Does that price include them removing and refitting the tyres? If so its a good price, If not then its slightly expensive IMO

i think its called a clear coat.

 

never sprayed a matt finish so never used it.

 

might be worth a google. and then try a tester on something old before putting it on what you already sprayed.

price i got was including taking wheels off and all that jazz, just a case of dropping the car with them.

 

might be able to get it cheaper, looking into it now, friend of a friend kind of arrangement
