Corrado Posted April 18, 2010 Share Posted April 18, 2010 Hi, It's time for a spark plug change, and I've been impressed with what I've been reading about the added performance from DENSO Iridium plugs. My car is a completely standard 276bhp model, which has never had a plug change before. My mechanic is quite 'old school' and was in the place that NGK were well proved long-term, and I should stick with them. Has anyone been running DENSO's for 4/5 years? Given that the plugs take a bit of messing about to access on the 350Z, I wanted to do the job once and be done for the next 5 years. Any feed-back would be appreciated. Thanks! Get whichever is the cheapest IMHO, even if you gain 1bhp is it worth the extra expense? Crap new plugs will make the difference over brilliant older ones anyway. Sign up with opieoils.co.uk as a member (to get reduced prices) and use the code APRILFREESHIP to get free delivery. A full set of 6 denso iridium is about £42 delivered. Even cheaper is the NGK copper alternative at around £25, but then you have to replace them after around 15k and some say they don't produce as good a spark leading to a very slight reduction in fuel economy and performance. MattG Posted April 28, 2010 Share Posted April 28, 2010 It's worth mentioning that Denso do a "Tough" version of their Iridium plug that lasts even longer than normal iridiums. Opie sell these too but they are a little more expensive than normal Iridiums. Sounds like a good option for you if you want the plugs to last as long as possible.
