Front number plate holder

Does anyone know what's behind the front plate holder or how it's held on.I have bought a holder that screws into the tow eye for when I get the V2 front but was thinking of trying it on the standard bumper.

seem's to be different for different people. some people have two big holes there and some don't it seems!

 

I was going to get a plate holder but need to take off the original bracket to see what the situation is under there!

Yeah it's a UK facelift car.Looks like I will have to wait for the new bumper then.

I removed mine the other day, there is two holes about 3/4" Diameter

 

Then two plastic captive nuts if you like where the holder bolts onto

 

it comes off easy enough so worth a lookey!

 

I fitted a small cut down plate earlier on in the week and the plate is bigger than the holes therefor covering them up

Christ when did you put that plate on? You not had a tug from the local plod yet? I would have thought they would have been all over that like a rash??

My car also has the two drilled holes. When I had taken my number plate holder off, I had noticed my paint was pretty badly scored behind the holder. Has anyone else noticed this?
