MPG on a JDM

Was out driving earlier and noticed for the first time about the KM/L on the right hand centre dial. it was sitting at approx 12.3 (driving very steady) then came home and worked out that 4.55 litres=Gallon and also that 12.3x4.55 gave me 55.2 approx. I then converted this to miles and it came up with 34MPG is this about right for steady driving or am i completely wrong and worked this all out for nothing.

I must admit i was taking it very easy to see how high i could get it but i know its going to be hard to keep it low.

yeah if you drive like a granny and always stay under 3k revs you will get decent mpg but honestly DON'T

Yeah, i gave up trying to work it out - i've kind of got used to it now, if i'm on the motorway i think YAY i've hit double figures!

Mine is around 7 - 9 km/L

So say 9...

 

9km = 5.6mi

1gal = 4.5L

 

Sooo 5.6mi x 4.5L = 25.2mpg

 

Is this correct?

Yes i think so. I usually get about 24 when i work mine out.

1 Km = 0.62 mile

4.55 l = 1 Gallon

 

MPG = 2.82 x KM/L

ah, it suddenly went into my brain! Thanks Rich! Now i'll try to forget it quick before I realise how bad it is! I can't believe the price of bloody fuel has got to where it is not without there being riots in the street! It's 122 for super at bloody Tesco now. It was 1.18 last week and i thought that was bad enough! Where will it end up?

As a benchmark my UK Z is on 25.5mpg at the moment and thats a mix of driving.

 

Re: Petrol pices, They're just going to go up and away. then when people go to LPG that will go up aswell (it has already started to iirc) we can't win

Same at home - had LPG as no gas in village, cost a fortune. When I moved house went onto Oil as it was half the price of LPG now its as bloody bad! At this rate i'll end up with a moped and a sleeping bag!

25 is about right for a mix of driving, get about 35 on a motoroway stint, maybe less maybe more. Thats on my UK model anyway

Got a drive coming up very within the next week of approx 348 miles all motorway going to try my luck and make it on one tank of fuel do you think i will make it.

My JDM was getting anywhere betwen 7 and 11 kl/l depending on how I was driving it... good news though I bought from ebay a set of new boxed UK clocks for £10... and now I dont have to be so obsessed with my calculator... keep and eye on ebay for some more. They are real easy to fit (15 mins) oh and the oil pressure is also in psi then. Well worth £10 IMO.

I'm sure someone else tried to do that and had problems? does it depend on the year?

I took a gamble as it was only £10 and all I had to do was plug it in and hey presto all okay (apart from no tyre pressure warning as its not fitted on (my)JDM). My zed was first registered in Japan very late 2003.

mmm same as mine..........and were your uk clocks a particular year? And one other thing - did the clock on it work? It drives me insane not having a clock on the jdm pod.

Dont know what year the clocks were...new in box though...Clock what clock, mine has the clock in the radio display...not in the three pods.
