Ian Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 i thought there was no difference in weight on the carbon bonnets as the OEM are aluminium anyway? It didnt feel any lighter than the OEM bonnet but when its open its not as stable as the oem bonnet was Quote
Dene8 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 i thought there was no difference in weight on the carbon bonnets as the OEM are aluminium anyway? That's what I was thinking too............ thought it was purely for aesthetics and Quote
St3v50z Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Is it a Seibon hood? Sorry i may have missed the part when you said what brand it is. Personally i prefer the OEM versions, and without the eyelids too. I think it makes the Z look cheap, but thats just me. Sorry to hear about your lip though, it should be fixable, but wont be straight forward. I cracked the Greddy lip on my Honda Prelude and it was a right arse to fix, but looked ok in the end. Quote
MrLizard Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 the bonnet is aluminium but the boot is steel and weighs a ton Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 i thought there was no difference in weight on the carbon bonnets as the OEM are aluminium anyway? There is a difference between FRP and OEM though... Quote
Dene8 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 the bonnet is aluminium but the boot is steel and weighs a ton More like iron!!! I've lost count of the number of times the bloody thing has attempted to smash my pretty little skull in, 'cause of the spoiler creating extra weight!! Quote
srobrien Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 Cheers guys, there is a definate weight difference between OEM and CF i fitted the bonnet by myself and the OEM is a good bit heavier. R Quote
Jak Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 anyone else think the GReddy lip would look nice in black with the Carbon Bonnet? Jak Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 it will need a complete respray once its fixed anyway, could work well. there is a pic of it on my car in black, suppose you could photoshop the bonnet black on my car to give you a feel for it. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 or maybe just get it repaired and then carbon wrapped by racoon, might be cheaper and it would give a matching carbon look lip to the carbon bonnet. Quote
