Price of oem rear brake disks and pads

Does anyone know the price of oem rear brake disks and rear pads (inner and outer) and pads for the front wheels too? I'm not 100% sure but I don't think I can see much thickness left in the rear pads and when I run my finger over the rear disks they don't seem as smooth at the front disks. The rear disks just seem to be slightly "bumpy" when I run my finger from the outer part to the centre. Is this normal or a sign that they do need replacing? There's no actual grooves though. I need to know as I don't want to get down to Nissan or a specialist and they tell me I do need the disks replacing when I don't.

How long (labour time) would it take to replace rear disks, pads on rear and front?

My car's brakes are squealing very slightly when I come to a halt sometimes in traffic at slow speed.

Also to be safe I'm also going to get the front pads all changed. My car is a UK 2005 GT with 36k miles so seem about the right time to be getting the brake pads all changed. Just know that replacing disks can be expensive. I assume the 2005 UK brake system and parts are exactly the same as the latest 2008 350z.

Thanks for any info.

I changed the front pads and disks yesterday for EBC red stuff and turbo groove disks. Got it all off CS and took me about 2hours all in all and im no mechanic.

At my last service nissan wanted £379 just to change the rear pads. My front disks and pads all around were cheaper than that from CS.

Jim, I told you it would be straightforward, pleased you get them fitted, lovely day for it too...

Thanks for all the replies. Cross drilled ones would look the business and give better stopping power I bet.

In regards to a lip on the outer edge I can't see any distinctive lip on the outer edge. There are circular grooves running all the way round the disks - starting from the outer part all the way through to the centre but not one particular big groove on the outer edge if that's what you mean (does anyone have a pic of what to look out for?) - ie if you run your finger over the surface from outer to centre it feels slightly bumpy, not flat. I've looked at the pads from the outside and there is still some thickness remaining (about 6-8mm I estimate) but to be safe I'm going to get the pads replaced all round as there is slight squealing occasionally. What make of cross drilled disks would they be for the £650 and is there marked improvement over standard (I assume they are the same as the standard 328mm size on front)?

For reference, the new thickness and minimum thickness for the discs are:

Brembo equipped cars:

Front new thickness: 30mm

Front minimum thickness: 28mm

Rear new thickness: 22mm

Rear minimum thickness: 20mm

The discs are standard size, 324mm front and 322mm rear, the £650 discs are the DBA discs…

  • 4 weeks later...

I have EBC discs and pads all over on my celica and can vouch for their improved stopping power. As far as cross drilled goes, unless your paying for heat treated discs, isnt there the risk of fatigue cracks forming??? Hope you get ur discs sorted.

EBC are grooved rather than drilled so no issues with cracking
